Little Rock, or Asin-ii-wub in the Ojibwemowin (Language of the people) was named after Chief Little Rock who lived in the middle 1800's - early 1900's. The community is west of Red Lake and includes  the smaller communities of Big Stone and Neptune down the Red Lake River on the west boundary. The Chairman, Floyd "Buck" Jourdain Jr. of the Red Lake Nation was born and raised in this community. The elected representatives of Little Rock on the Red Lake Tribal Council are Richard Barrett and William Green.
