I am truly one of the lucky ones…
For I am blessed beyond what I could have possibly hoped for, having my wonderful chosen Sevi. To have such fills my heart with a joy that can only be surpassed when she is my bondmate. This is the story of our meeting, and of since that time. A few details may have escaped my memory, but almost all still remains vivid in my mind.
I had spent my entire childhood, or all of it I can remember in a small town designed for the care of young dracos. A mutual agreement was made by the townspeople and the dragons, that the town would take in infant dracos and help to raise them. In exchange for this, the dragons of the area agreed to protect the town. Certain dragons were in constant contact with the town, mostly to teach the growing dracos of all things dragon. We were also taught of secians, and the certain attraction to them; however we never saw one, for all were with their dragons farther away from the town. After a certain age, I had learned all the dragons were willing to teach, I set out for where much of the kyn my age head for, the Spurian Academy. I went partially because I wanted to see new sights; however most of it had to do with a feeling to find something more, which I determined must be to find a secian of my own.
My first day at the Academy was confusing to say the least, especially for one who had never left the boundaries of his hometown his entire life. After walking around for a bit, and spending a bit of time practicing the spells I had learned from my dragon mentors back home, I sat down for a moment to rest. It was then I met the most beautiful and charming thing I had ever seen, a little Secian. As soon as she fluttered to me introduced herself as Sevi, I felt something, a connection with her. She was ever cheerful and excited to see me, and as we got to know each other, the connection with her grew stronger. We would often be thinking the same thing, and several times almost bumped our heads trying to nuzzle each other at the same time. As it became time to leave the Academy, she began to inquire when I would leave, sense I began to speak of leaving soon. Though such a short time had passed since I met her, I felt to leave her would only cause sadness to her and myself, and after thinking of such, I did not even entertain the thought of leaving her, it just felt too wrong to do so. After much consideration, I realized that this perhaps is the chosen I had searched for all along, in the very first secian I had met! Sure, it was a risk to ask so early on, but such a treasure is well worth the risk. Her affection was all I had to hold onto, and she appeared to be alone as I. With much hesitation, I asked her if she would like to become my chosen, to help me when the time comes to see me through the painful staging process. During the several long, agonizing seconds she thought to decide, I begin to wonder had I asked too early… The question pulsed in my mind, until she agreed to my asking, and we agreed to become one. With that decision, we decided to begin in a new city not two lonely souls, but together.
Still today, that love which brought us together other remains stronger than ever. I still have in fact, the very first gem Sevi gave me: a small turquoise charm given to me from her tiny hand. While she is napping, I will occasionally pull it out and hold it, remembering how we met, and how we become closer every day…
