Reading Renaissance

Reading Renaissance is an important part of our day.  The children spend time practicing the reading skills taught during the day.  As you know, the more you practice something the better you get at it.  The children read, take tests on the books read, and go to the library to get more books to read.  Your child reads books on his/her reading level. Please make sure that your child reads at home and brings the library books to school every day. Your child has a goal that he/she needs to meet.  Look on your child's progress report and the bookmark to see how many points your child needs to reach each nine weeks.  Children get points for reading and making a good grade on the tests they take.  They also get prizes and T-shirts.  Please encourage your child to read every  night.
