| This is my 1962 Pontiac Catalina. It needs some engine work. It runs well but burns oil. A new radiator core was recently installed to cure overheating in our hot desert climate. It also needs some interior repair such as a new headliner and door panel replacement on the driver's side door. The seats are in fair condition with no tears, but shows wear and needs cleaning. The dashboard is cracked (only slight warpage) as so many Arizona cars are and will need repair also. The upholstery may have been replaced in the past, I don't know. The plus side of living it's life in the desert is this car suffers no rust through. There are slight rusting stains starting to appear in small places like at the mirrors but can be removed with light sanding or polishing compound. The paint may not be original but repainted the original color. I don't know. The paint is oxodized by heat and sun. All body parts are present and original including wheel covers and all glass is in good condition. Doors and windows operate and lock correctly. The hood, trunk and glove compartment open, close and lock easily. The front and rear bumpers and grill are in good condition. All emblems are present and firmly attached. The headlamps work and are properly aligned. The interior lights and map lights work too as does all the interior instruments including cigarette lighter and radio. The interior heater works but this model included no air conditioner. |
