continued..

Okayyyy..an update:

As of July 3rd I was approved for processing.  In English that means in another 9-10 months I'll be a "Landed Immigrant".  That is if hell doesn't freeze over and the creek don't rise.  There are couple more things they want.  Somehow my medical report has gone missing.  I think it's the name thing.  Immigration is using my maiden name.  I'm using my married name.  I think the medical report was done with my married name.  They also want a police report from Texas.  Yuck.  It's such a pain to get this kind of stuff.  Finding out where to get it from is a major headache.

I am also authorized to work in Canada.  More forms, more money.  Grrr..they could run the country on the fees they've received from me (well..Eli) so far.

I also needed a SIN (What?! Not enough sin already?!).  That's a Social Insurance Number (same as a Social Security Number for Americans).  I did find out that you can't be denied employment for not having a SIN but you do have to get one..eventually.  At least that didn't cost any money.

I guess that's it.  I don't expect to update this until I've "Landed".
