The Great Depression American History - 1930-1939 Use this site to learn more about the culture and history of the 1930's (the Depression era). Make sure you take the time to click on some of the important links under the historic events section (the Dust Bowl link gives a good idea of what farmers had to endure during this decade). Riding the Rails - This is a companion site to a PBS film entitled Riding the Rails. The true story is about the 250,000 teenagers that left their home during the Depression to ride the railroad as "hobos". Most were just looking for jobs. New Deal Network - An educational guide to the 1930's. 2. RedBone Hounds Dixie Coonhound Rescue - This site, created by a woman that rescues and then gives coonhounds through adoption is a good place to investigate the personality of a coonhound. Redbones.org - A site created by redbone owners. Gives a bit of the history of the dog, its specifications and some personal stories from people owning the dog. Ozark Redbones - The site that inspired Ms. Sevigny to purchase a redbone coonhound and take up coon hunting. 3. The Cherokee Nation Cherokee History - A site devoted to the history of the Cherokee tribe. More Cherokee History - Another site (2 parts) devoted to the history of the Cherokee nation.
