| The Fiesta XR2 was introduced in December 1981 based on the mk1 bodyshell,using a 1.6 litre overhead valve engine it was capable of 106 mph & 0-60 mph in 9.3 seconds.The technical specification for the mk1 XR2 never altered during production. The mk2 XR2 was introduced in June 1984.There are 2 sets of technical specifications for this model. |

| Engine bay alterations included a shorter brake master cylinder & revised servo mounts from D reg onward.A smaller plastic radiator fan cowling from around C reg onward.The radiator expansion bottle pressure relief cap was replaced by a screw-on cap & the ignition module near the windscreen wiper motor was deleted after a new style distributor was fitted. |
