Restoring A33 TJN  (page 9)
The doors, bonnet & tailgate that were on A33 TJN when I bought it had already been replaced once at some stage in the past except for the passenger door. However, they all needed replacing this time.I wasn't prepared to respray a dodgy item when all were available from breakers yards in good condition for peanuts....or so I thought.
Bonnet.
Err..good..breakers yard.No chance with the bonnet despite my local having 12 mk2 Fiestas in stock at the time.So a new pattern item was bought from the Norwich Fiesta-centre for a very reasonable 40
As with the new bodyshell panels the transit primer was removed before it was etch primed, cellulose primed & finally topcoated.Do you like my orange grass??
Drivers door.
This came from an E reg XR2.It needed cosmetic repairs on the lock hole & quarterlight surround before it could be painted. The E reg had been stolen previously.
Passenger door & tailgate.
These came off the same D reg fiesta I found in a corner of the breakers yard. In very good condition & only 10 each.
The door trim had to be removed, revealing pop rivet holes which needed filling.
The panels were in excellent condition considering the doner car had been in a large impact accident on the drivers side front corner.
