Fiesta
Although the Fiesta has been one of the best selling cars in its class since it was introduced in 1976 the model world has largely shunned the car.The mark 2 in particular has no model version at all (to my knowledge-I have been looking for years). These models were mostly bought from model stalls at car shows or even from car boot sales!
This French 1/43 mk1 was made by "JETCAR de NOREV".It lacks detail except for an opening tailgate.I bought it boxed from a stall at FordFair a few years ago for 10.I recently got another from a car boot sale for 50p,no box & in used condition, but for 50p I wasn't complaining!
This 1/43 mk1 is part of a series made by "DETAIL CARS" including L,S,Ghia & various rally car liveries. No 15 was rallied by Roger Clark on the 1979 Monte Carlo event
This metallic bronze 1/25 mk1 Sport was made by Italian fim "POLISTIL".Reasonably well detailed with opening doors, tailgate & bonnet.Ghia style alloys & yellow S stripes (which like to peel off) finish it off.I bought this from a car show model stall in its box (scruffy) for 18.
The mk3 XR2i Q8 liveried rally car is actually a Scalextric model racing car.Scale is about 1/32.Again I bought this off a model car stall at a show for 8.These were apparently only available in a race set from mail order catalogues.
These 1/25 scale XR2i models by German company "SCHABAK" came in red or black in a smart red box featuring the correct Ford logo.I believe these models were actually commissioned by Ford.Very good detailing is only let down by incorrectly scaled alloy & tyres.I got the red car, boxed at FordFair for 25 a few years ago.The black one was found, again boxed at the Bromley Pageant in 2000 for just 10.
This mk3 Fiesta Courier van was a car boot find for 20p.Obviously used & boxless but I have still not seen another,it was made by "MATCHBOX"....the mk4 was made by "SIKU" & cost me 1.99 from a supermarket in its perspex box. These two are 1/54 scale.
