The State of Pernambuco, as all
the Northeast region of Brazil, presents a great variety of
handicraft
products. Beyond the figurative, composed type for parts that are
true works of art, it has an enormous amount of utilitarian,
indispensable products in day-by-day of our population. For the main
branches, the pernambucano handicraft thus is divided: Cestaria and
braids; embroiderings and incomes; ceramics; leather; weaving; wood;
metal; tapestry.
Hammocks - Great part of the hammock produced currently in
Pernambuco already is through industrial processes. But, in some
regions - as, for example, the city of Tacaratu - still it is
present the artisan process, through which the hammock is produced in a
laborious work of more than 20 stages. The weighed part more of the
work (of weaving of the cloth that serves of body of the hammcok) is
made through the calls barge sewing presses. Other basic parts are
of confection of the rope of trancelim and the fist. The main raw
material for the production of the hammock is the cotton wire. |
