The group Redeemed originated from the Praise and Worship team at Trinity Assembly of God church in Montoursville, PA.  In 1989, Chris Cordero, Sheila Stiger and Monty Hornberger formed the Trio and began singing as "Redeemed".  In 1990 Keith Woodcock graduated from college and started singing with the group.  In early 1993 the group disassembled due to Chris moving out of the area and Sheila feeling the need to devote more time to her family.  Monty felt the call to sing and knew it was to be with a group so he started advertising in local Christian book stores for singers.  Approximately 6 months passed with no results and then suddenly the calls came.  Not 1 or 2 but 3 different calls within weeks of each other.  In February of 1994, Monty Hornberger, (tenor) Judy Dieterle, (lead) Lynn Swizinsky, (lead) and Jim Barrett, (baritone) all from the Williamsport, PA. area, met to sing a few songs and discuss the future of Redeemed.  Shortly after this meeting Keith Woodcock, (bass) who had started playing keyboard for another group was contacted and asked to rejoin the group.  In March of 1994 the group performed their first concert at the Church of God in Swatara, PA.  Over the next two years the group became very busy and started singing most every weekend.  In late 1996 Judy decided to leave the group and spend more time with her family. (grandchildren, grandchildren, grandchildren).  From that point on the group was known as the Redeemed Quartet and started singing approximately 80 concerts a year.  In September of 1999, Lynn Swizinsky felt the call to go into full time ministry and started Second Chance Ministries which he continues to do today.  In November of 1999, Ron Kelly, (lead) former member of many great southern gospel groups, (Keystone Quartet, Envoys) started singing with Redeemed.  This started a new venture for the group as Ron also was a preacher and the group started doing revival services.  With over 50 years in the ministry, most of them being on the road, Ron finally decided to spend more time with his family and in November of 2002 left the group to work in local churches.  In January of 2003, Gene Bixby from New Albany, PA. joined the group as the lead singer and holds that position today.  Over the years Redeemed has seen many changes but their love for God and their vision to win others to Christ and be a blessing to his followers has never changed.
