                 Tub Toys

I just got up to shave and shower not long ago.
There they were, Batman and Robin, Superman, a horse, a star wars ship and  Luke Skywalker, the Enterprise, a western thing and, Whew, the list goes on. They were all in one spot and from what I heard last night when my 7
year old was taking a bath, they were all in the same story.

How does that work?  I mean, in reality, I hardly ever see that diverse a group working together. As a matter of fact sometimes only the subtle difference of skin   color can keep folks apart.

In this world of God's creativity I would rather be a tub toy. At least tub toys are living in Jesus prayer for unity, (not unison). Tub toys maybe live in a world of naivety or ignorance when it comes to differences, or maybe it's just in the child's mind. They see differences but instead of ignoring the differences they might ask questions like "Why is your skin different? Did God paint you?".

How I answer that question is how we are going to influence the lives of my children when it comes to differences. Give them the right answer and they say "Okay." and walk away not worrying about it. Give them an answer out of  my own bigotry and I ruin their love for diversity for life. I have never  considered myself to be anything but accepting and yet I live in this  world. Bigotry and prejudices are all around me. I am not immune to picking them up if I am not diligent in guarding my mind and heart with God's Spirit being my help.

My encouragement is that we would love those around no matter what, and if we have accepted the love of Christ then all the more we need to be loving and accepting. We should never just accept sin whether it is in our own lives or others but we should never be the first to stand up and judge either. Jesus has that job when all ends, until then we are called to love one another, serve one another, pray for one another, build each other up.

In this I see no bigotry or prejudice, only God's children.
I'd rather be a Tub toy and get along with all of you and love you the way you deserve because that's what Jesus prayed for.

Now where's that Rubber Ducky?

learning to play a musical instrument.
