"Service With A Smile"
"Yea shall know them by their fruits..." Matthew 7:16

Two nights ago, I went to pick up a take out order at a local restaurant. I knew right from the beginning that I had picked the right place to eat. When I entered the establishment, I was greeted by the manager (who was running the cash register). I told him that I was there to pick up an order that had been called in. He went to the back to get my food. When he returned, he did not just give me my food. He actually checked my order before I was allowed to have it. WOW! That's service. I am so used to getting my food, then waiting for the cooks to re-do my order. Not this time.

The manager rang up my order. I noticed the total was not what it normally was. It was less. I made a comment about it, jokingly. The manager informed me that they were having a special. No signs, no price change in the menu, or anything. They were just having a special. Many establishments would just charged the regular price. Not this place. Another thing I noticed was when I was ready to leave. The manager, remembering my name from my Debit Card, bid me farewell using my name. After a long day at work, it was nice to have such great service.

Customer service is important to all of us. Or at least it should be. When we receive good service from a company, we tend to go back again and again. Whether it be a restaurant or our long distance telephone company, we can spot good customer service.

In a way, we as the body of Christ, are customer service agents. When we live our daily lives, we are reflections of our faith, so to speak. We can either provide a good experience or a bad experience to the people we meet. We can show love as Christ commands us to, or we can choose not to. Not matter how we act, we will be known by our fruits. How we act, can tell a person who we are. The manager at the restaurant gave great customer service, therefore I perceived him to be a good man. As Christians, people perceive us by the way we show ourselves.

So, how are your "customer service" skills? If someone were to contact you, for questions about your faith, would you greet them with a smile? Would you just put them to the side, for someone else to handle. Would you be ready, willing and able to give them the answers they sought? Would your manager (God the Father) say to you, "Well done, thou good and faithful servant!"

It is my prayer that each of us greets everyone we meet with the love of Jesus! Until next time, continue to seek His face.

Praise Him in the Morning! Praise Him in the Evening! Praise Him ALL the time.
