Angel on Board or Happenstance
It
was Christmas Eve, 1998. All my family, sisters, their kids and all the grand kids were on
their way to my house in 2 hours. I had invited a young Frenchman from the local
Youth With A Mission base to spend Christmas Eve with us. He had no car and I needed to drive a 45 mile round trip to bring him to my home. I was bustling about, with last minute preparations. Then it started to snow...BIG wet soggy flakes, coming down so fast. And it was rush hour! On Christmas Eve... with last minute shoppers and workers headed home. As I was putting on my coat to leave... I
thought... maybe I better check with God, to make sure I should go pick Max up. I
whispered my prayer of thanksgiving for all the good that day, my praise music tape
was still playing in the recorder, and I asked God... "should I go?" There was
peace in my heart. A vision of Max being blessed by being in a home that spoke
French for Christmas, so far away from his home. I knew the snowy road would make me
late for my own party, and called my sister to tell her, "I would leave the
door unlocked, and for all to come in and start without me. " I didn't even try
the highway! Down the back way... , but probably faster in the long run. 'Take your time,
don't rush', kept It was a great Christmas Eve... and Max and all
my family were truly blessed in the celebration of the birth of our Lord. And if you
think the story ends here.... it doesn't. 3 days later, I was vacuuming out my car. On the
floor, behind the driver's seat was a large, fluffy white feather! I started to vacuum it
up, when it struck me... where did that feather come from??? I picked it up... and
looked at it... and tried to think who, or what might have been in my car that would shed
such a fine white, fluffy, perfectly shaped feather? That feather is pinned to my bulletin
board, right in front of me now. I won't try to tell you it is an angel's feather... but
God uses many things to tell us of His love and care, and grace... and I think He was
giving me a "confirmation" that His will is what kept me, my car and the other
drivers on that hill safe In His Love |
