NETWORK OF LATIN AMERICAN ORGANISATIONS IN EUROPE

Education network

EXAMPLES

ANDEAN LANGUAGES; PERUVIAN LANGUAGES (including Amazon/lowland languages)

These examples show how it may be possible to coordinate series of talks on major themes - in this case the languages of Latin America - across Europe. The talks are given at an immediately accessible level e.g. to cultural associations in the local language. These ideas are explored further in an article "Diasporas and shared knowledge: the case of regional, endangered, authochtonous languages" (Click for full text which will be downloaded as a 'pdf' file. This may take a minute or so).

Example 1, hosted by CECUPE the Peruvian Cultural Centre in Paris is a talk given by César Itier on the subject of the Andean languages. (Click for full text which will be downloaded as a pdf, portable document format file. This may take a minute or so). Please note that the links to the maps in the pdf version do not function. Please click here to view maps: Distribution of Quechua from Colombia to Argentina; Quechua IIC contemporary; Peruvian languages 1000AD; Andean languages 1530AD.

These documents can also be accessed via the CECUPE website: work in progress - link to be confirmed.
