What can you do?

What can you change?

A WHOLE LOT !!

Don't excuse yourself by saying "won't  make a difference if I'm the only one doing it ...", if everybody would think that way nothing would ever be done !!

Keep an open mind, situations always have two sides, you can have your cake and eat it ...

Support and encourage organizations for Wild Life and Nature conservation

Learn, and teach others, to respect Nature, since we are all part of it, we're respecting ourselves ...

Save energy, it'll be one less gallon of oil being burned or one less tree cut down

Save water, don't leave water running if you're not using it, because drinking water is one of the more endangered luxuries we have these days

Recycle and/or re-use all paper, glass, packages and metal containers

Give back unnecessary bags and wrappings, who knows how many trees you'll be saving ...

Avoid plastics, a plastic bag can take up to 100 years to be destroid in the environment and kills many marine animals that choke on it

Buy local products, those will be fresher and you'll save in transportation costs

Use unleaded gas and other non-fossil fuels, global warming is not just a scary bed time story, bet you felt the harsh winter storms or the dry summers already ...

Use public transportations and try to make them environment-friendly by "applying pressure" on the polititians

Avoid chemical weed-killers, insecticides and fertilisers, they will kill every living creature, even the ones we depend on ...

Use detergents and cleaning liquids with care, never use more than recommended, they're the main cause for water pollution in our days

Don't use sprays, watch the ozone, since it is the only thing that is protecting us from skin cancer or permanent eye damage caused by U.V.

Boycott animal testing, don't "fall" for the "they don't feel pain like humans do" line, and most of those tests are not really necessary for product quality anyway

Never use real furs, fake fur is just as nice and much easier to care for ...

Don't buy wild animals for pets, remember that most of them die during transportation and you'll be making them extinct in the wild, where they belong

Prevent the spread and growth of non-indigenous organisms, they may end up killing all natural life in the area, since they won't have any natural predators

Beware of transgenic products, read the labels carefully, there aren't enough studies yet so nobody can say if they're safe or not ...

Keep your neighbourhood clean, it's the first step to clean the planet ...

But most of all, THINK for yourself, don't let greedy and ignorant people take advantage and destroy what belongs to all of us ...

Remember ...

...We didn't inherit the Earth from our fathers, we're just borrowing it from our children !!!
