Public Relations Events and Advisory Committees
A PR event is a useful tool in getting the community to
understand and support the need for continuing education in the adult
population. Organizing these events takes little time if a timeline
and deadline are in place. After these are established and publicity
gained from the event the community will be more likely to support an organization
that is promoting harm reduction through education.
An Advisory Committee is another important
element in spreading the good news of the course I plan to teach. These
committees are an important tie into the community and potential employers
for those who have been rehabilitated and ready to get back into the workforce.
Supportive ideas are gathered during the committee meetings that are helpful in
the determination of what is needed to help student achieve their occupational
goals. Once an occupational goal is set and potential employers are
aware of competent employees to fill jobs the sky is the limit.
