Harrison-Addison Madison Redde
Harris is portrayed at ages 6, 15, and 18. He has a lot of name for a scrawny kid with one eye. There is no use denying it: Harris is an emo boy. He is emotional, melodramatic, jealous, sensitive, hotheaded, and strangely charismatic. Oh, and XstraightXedgeX. He likes sad music and clothing with stripes. He hates his parents with a passion. Arik is his beloved older brother. |

Arik Salisbury Redde
Arik is portrayed at ages 16 and 26. Arik is gay and very insecure about it. He's not too fond of himself. He also can't cook EasyMac and never knows where his socks are. His talents consist of piloting his barge, playing soccer, putting on a spectacular song-and-dance for his parents, and being a complete doormat. He adores his little brother Harris and loves his best friend Roger and his on-again off-again partner Bryce with all his heart. |
| Bryce Oskar Prelutsky
Bryce is portrayed at ages 15 and 25. Bryce grew up in Vermont and almost died there. He's usually about one step from a nervous breakdown and spends a lot of time smoking and shrieking at his partner, Arik. He's dangerously thin and abnormally tall. He is possessive, jealous, hotheaded, paranoid, and unstable. However, he is also brave as all hell, tough as nails, loyal to the end, and unconditionally loving. He's unapologetically gay and doesn't take shit from anyone, and he's not afraid to use his fists (or knees or elbows or a baseball bat). Bryce loves his family, his foster-brother David, and Arik. Everyone else can go to hell. |
| Roger John O'Donnell
Roger is portrayed at ages 18 and 29. Roger is outgoing, affectionate, and fun-loving. However, he acts without thinking, lets his emotions overrule basic logic, is pathetically lazy, and can be very emotionally needy. He drinks too much and has some serious psychological disturbances that lead to depression, horrendous self-injury, and suicide attempts. He absolutely adores his best friend Arik |
| David Jean-Louis LeMaye
David is portrayed at ages 17 and 27. David grew up in Quebec but has red curly hair and way too many freckles. As a kid he came off as a loser and a wuss, but when challenges arose, David was brave, steadfast, and self-sacrificing to the point of near-death. As an adult, he is, quite frankly, badass. He's a cop, and he enjoys shooting things. He and Bryce are beyond best friends and beyond brothers, but he doesn't like Bryce's partner much. David is usually pissed off about something. |

Michael "Merlin" John McKiernon
Merlin is 17 years old, 6'7", and built like a pro athlete. He beats people up for fun and enjoys terrorizing students and teachers. He is also a certified genius, bisexual, and a poet. When he's not commiting federal crimes or sending someone to the hospital, Merlin likes to read. War history and Shakespeare are two of his favorite topics. He's dating Bryce, whom he is desperately and painfully in love with. Merlin's home life is too horrid for even Jerry Springer, so he's frequently violent and unstable. Merlin is capable of both creating great beauty and horrendous destruction. He would like you to go fuck yourself. |

Addison and Molly Redde
Addison and Molly Redde are Harris and Arik's parents. Mr. Redde is critical and concerned about his family image, so he puts a lot of pressure on his children to act perfectly. He has his sons' best intentions at heart, but his unconscious criticism sowed severe insecurity into Arik and nearly led Harris to a psychotic breakdown. He's not very happy about his favorite son being gay, and he doesn't like Bryce at all. He doesn't bother to hide how much Harris pisses him off: Harris is everything Mr. Redde always tried to avoid. Both his sons are disappointments to him, but he does love them and still thinks he can fix them. Mrs. Redde is also critical of her children, but in a more nitpicky way. Still, she loves them very much, and she knows when to draw the line. Mrs. Redde is the parent who is more likely to bitch at you for your report card, while Mr. Redde will be waiting to punch you in the face when the cops bring you home. |
