Wa-Do-Dem : Eek-A-Mouse tore up the scene with the release of the title track, a template of his new "Singjay" style, if you're not interested in a whole albums worth check out the excellent Island compilation Deejays Inna Dancehall style

The Mouseketeer, haven't checked this one out yet, apparently worth listening to, definitely worth buying on account of the ridiculous cover photo

.

Eek-A-Mouse

More dancehall than roots, Eek-A-Mouse pioneered the "Singjay" style of toasting in the early eighties. Using the trademark sparse rythms of Henry "Junjo" Lawes' productions Eek-A-Mouse compensated with his somewhat baroque style of toasting.

Prior to his dancehall incarnation the Mouseketeer had apparently been a roots reggae singer in the seventies and cut a few well respected tracks under his own name - Ripton Hilton. Maybe worth checking out if you have the time.

A note about the name, apparently he chose it in honour of a horse he used to regularly loose money on at the Kingston track; a story he put to wax in his track "How I Got My Name" on the Mouseketeer album.
