Red Pond 1982? Contains a host of rough tracks, collaborating with his sparring partner Jim Kelly, who was subsequently shot dead soon after, and the singer Don Carlos. Mother-In-Law track; a well worn theme given a witty once over, using possibly the slowest reggae rythm ever commited to wax?

Chaplin Chant, dont know much about this one other than the title track, which is worth buying the album for alone.

One of a Kind, - uses some of the red pond material, which pissed me off a bit. Otherwise its OK.

Other bits & pieces

Apparently still records, and may yet serve up a big record, who knows.

Charlie Chaplin

When I bought Chaplin's Red Pond (named after the really harsh district he hailed from) album on a whim, I was blown away. The man is a grade 'A' chatter, using really tough dancehall rythms. A deejay with the Sturgav sound system, set up by U-Roy, Chaplin was obviously seen as having lots of potential.

Looking for background info on Chaplin was tough, but some of his albums are now available on CD and stuff has been written on him, not very much, I might add.

Apparently having never really broken through to bigger things, Chaplin remains a cultural chatter of the highest order who will perhaps at some time in the future gain the wider audience he deserves.
