Rosie Evans - biography
Special Guest
back
As the great niece of Hollywood legend Dame Julie Andrews, Rosie has a lot to live up to. Fortunately she takes this all in her stride and is one of the UK's up and coming singing talents.

Rosie has sung on several occasions with the band as a guest singer in concerts and then joined the band as a percussionist for the Mineworkers Brass band contest.

Focusing on her singing career, Rosie has since made a very successful appearance at the Theatre Royal Brighton in June 2009 in a production of My Fair Lady. Playing the part of Eliza Doolittle Rosie followed in the footsteps of her aunt who also sang this role on Broadway.

Rosie said "Its a dream come true to tread the boards at the Theatre Royal Brighton in such a wonderful role.

" my Great Aunt, Dame Julie Andrews played Eliza Doolittle on Broadway and has been really supportive. She lives in California and unfortunately was unable to come to Brighton for the show but  gave me some great advice.

"After taking my A levels I hope to study classical music and opera after taking a little time out to travel.  I also plan to spend some time in Italy studying the language and working towards my ultimate ambition - to sing opera professionally.
