When We Were Young

"Remember running like a maniac to the Home Cafe for lunch?  We didn't have much time, so we ran.  You could get a cheeseburger basket and a coke for 52 cents (including tax).  Those were the days!"
Remember when Patty won Miss Congeniality at the queen contest?
Barb remembers when Lynn Dittmer was her biology partner and was gentlemanly enough to dissect all the frogs for both of them.  It was nice until he accidently? dropped the entire tray of frog parts in her lap.  Ick!

Remember when the Study Hall wall and George Washington's picture were saturated with spit wads?
Remember near the end of the 1966 football season when Joe Kendzierski  pulled the Tackle from Eau Clare across the line, started whopping his butt, and then everyone piled on?  Coach Quick ran in, dug to the bottom of the pile, and hauled Joe's butt back to the bench!
Walt Rudecki remembers Mr. Baney's math class in 10th or 11th grade.  One day he handed out test paper scores, and Walt got his last, meaning he had received the worst grade.  When Walt's mom went to see Mr. Baney to ask him for some advice on how to improve his math skills, she was advised to enroll Walt in a school to become a mechanic.  This made her very mad, and she made sure Walt never had Mr. Baney again.

Walt, by the way, retired from Amoco (now BP) in Chicago and Houston where he was Vice-President and Senior Counsel for Domestic and International Compensation and Benefits for 22 years.  He is currently an attorney for a CPA firm in Houston, Texas.  He also teaches classes in tax law or employee benefits law.

And, we'll bet he would have made a whopper of a great mechanic, too!
