The Known Races

Humans
Definately the most common of the races, they are the undisputed masters of the continent.  Humans generally stand between 5ft and 6 and a half ft in height.  They are very quick to learn, mature quickly compared to Elves and Dwarves, but live longer than most of the humanoids.

Elves
Elves are a race who treasure their privacy.  They only really come together in times of trouble, or in times of war.  Elves live for about 1000 years, maturing at about the age of 60.  They stand between 5ft and 6ft in height, and tend to be more slender that Humans.

The Fae
The Fae are not a race in themselves, but a group of races who work together.  Comprised of the Fae Elf, Faeries, Nymphs, Dryads, and other such sylvan creatures, the Fae work to preserve the forests from the other races.  The Fae Court resides in Vilinel Forest, where their King or Queen advise on how best to achieve their goal.

Dwarves
The Dwarves reside on Nahar Isle, their ancestrol home, and most never leave it.  Only the call of adventure, or trade will bring a Dwarf across the sea to the continent.  Dwarves stand between 3 ft 8 and 4ft 5 however, they are usually as heavy as humans, if not heavier.

Halfling
Halflings as a race have no real home.  They are scattered over the continent, but do have a few communities on Nahar Isle.  The stand between 3 to 3 1/2 foot in height.  The tend to be chubby, and cheerful, with furry covered feet.

Gnome
Gnomes are inventors.  Mostly based on Nahar Isle, they have a good trade with the Dwarves.  They are slightly taller than Halflings.  They have large bulbous noses, and tend to have beards.

Orc
Orcs live in a tribal based society Otana's many mountain ranges and in caves deep within the earth.  They stand between 6 and 7 foot in height.  Orcs believe that might makes right.  They also have some strange ideas about spirit energy, and tend to eat the organs of any great warriors they defeat.

Goblins
Goblins are small, about halfling height, and are usually slaves of the Orcs.  As such they have no real society.  Physically and Mentally weak, they are only a real danger in numbers.

Drow
Not much is known about the Drow other than that they were created by the evil Goddess Landrala in the image of the elves.  The make raids on the surface once every 20 years or so.

Giant
Rumours say that giants larger than the ogre exist, but there have never been actual reports of them.  Ogres tend to ally with an Orc tribe.  Some run the tribe, but most will simply help them.  Trolls are quite rare, but are very hard to kill because of their regeneration.  Both Ogres and Trolls stand between 8 and 10 feet in height.

Thassian
The Thassians have appeared in the last year or two.  Most have been seen in the Assasin group the Black Dragons.  Rumour states that it was a Thassian who killed the King of Ishter.  There appears to be four types of Thassian.  The first is very human in shape, but has a snake like skin, yellowish eyes, and a slight hiss in his voice.  The second is human shape, except for the head which is basically a snake head, complete with fangs, poison, and the snake like tounge.  This type has a very pronouced hiss when it talks.  The third is humanoid with the head of a cobra.  This type seems very proficent in magic.  The last looks exactly the same as the first, except that the color of the scales is grey instead of green.  This type is very proficent in both martial and magical prowess.

Dragon
Dragons mostly exist in stories.  While it is commonly agreed upon that dragons are around, they only one that is ever seen is Agannazer.  Dragons are divided by their scale colour.  The ones with metallic shiny looking scales tend to help people.  Those with a more matte scale tend to hurt people.
