Winter Circuit (HITS Ocala) Results!!
Red Acre Riders had yet another very successful season in sunny Florida. Highlights included the Betsy and Katie Griffin winning circuit champion in the Adult Novice Hunters and the Pre-Children's Hunters Respectively. Amy Davies rode Annie Connolly's beautiful bay Thoroughbred, Well Decorated (Seamus to his buddies) to the championship in the Adult Equitation week two, and went on to being Reserve Circuit Champion in that division as well. Amy's daughter Annabelle rode her small chestnut pony,Jiminy Cricket ("Firefly") to a win in the Children's Ponies week two and got many other top ribbons. Sarah Ojemann won a class in the Pre-Children's Hunters on a leased horse named Ozzie (Special thanks to Sanmar Farm for leasing her Ozzie!!) Lori Gaudet rode her beautiful chestnut mare, Scarlett to many top ribbons in the Adult Amateurs, and claiming the Circuit Reserve in their division!! Annie Connolly delivered solid preformances in the Opens and the Amateur Owners on her long-time companion, Unlisted, who is also known as Erik. Annie also rode the newest member of the Connolly Clan, Seamus, in the Adult Equitation. Kristen McDermott and Wild At Heart ("Clark") got good ribbons throughout the circuit, their best being the win in the Bit o Straw Hunter Classic Week Four. Kimberly Maloomian rode Katie Griffin's Noteworthy to good ribbons in the Adult Hunters, and also rode Destiny, a horse from Sandy Lobel's Ravens Wood Farm. Week five, the Red Acre Pony Rider Meredith Combs came down to cheer on her friends and fellow RAF teammates. It was Merd's first time in Ocala and she had a blast!!! Fall Results!!
RAF really cleaned up this fall!! especially at the NEHC equitation championships!! Annie Connolly and her gorgeous horse Unlisted (Erik) were champions!! They topped a field of over 80 other younger adults to claim the top prize!! RAF was still riding high from Amy Davies' Reserve Champion ride the previous day! Amy and Rosewater (a horse from Dana Hall) gave a tremendous ride to finish second in the Oldest Adult division!! These ladies would like to thank Mitch and Kathy for all the help and support, and for making their dreams come true!!
