In light of their recent accomplishments, Annie and her amazing horse,
Erik were chosen as out March 2006 Spotlight! The pair was
reserve champion at the WCHR championship show in Tampa, Florida.
Erik's Bio:
Erik is a really special
horse. He and Annie have accomplished a lot together, and they are
an amazing team. Erik originally came to Red Acre as Annie's
"practice horse" but turned in to so much more! Erik is very well
known in the hunter-equitation world, and he has shown at lots of big
shows, like Capitol Challenge, HITS and the NEHC medal finals.
Erik is almost always at the top of the class! Not only is he
talented, Erik is very sweet as well! He loves to rest his head
on your shoulders and look in your pockets for treats! He loves
his brother Del, and they live in stalls right next to each other.
Erik is also very fond of Annie's Jack Russell, Daisy. Erik is
the total package, being sweet, handsome, and talented! We all
love him a lot! You'll be seeing a lot of Erik and Annie in the
show results page!!
Annie's Bio:
Annie is a very hard working person! She is a
talented rider and a great person to boot! Annie is a fibers
major at SCAD (Savannah College of Art & Design). She makes
awesome dog coats and adorable dog toys! Annie owns 2 other
fabulous horses, Unseen ("Alex") and Unlimited ("Del"). She also
loves dogs, especially Jack Russell Terriers! Annie has perhaps
the world's best Jack Russell named Daisy. Daisy goes everywhere
Annie goes! Annie has been riding at RAF since she was about 8
years old, and is a Red Acre Girl through and through. Annie was
the recipient of the Sportsmanship Award at this year's NEHC medal
finals! Annie Connolly is a name you will be seeing a lot in our
show results page!
I Interviewed Annie about Erik, and here are some things she said!
Erik Facts:
Show name: Unlisted
Nicknames: Erik and "Little Er"
Breed: Holsteiner
Age: 12
\Proud Moments:
Reserve Champion at Tampa, he stepped right up to the plate and
beat many talented horses, also probably his 3rd place finish @ the
2004 Ariat National Adult Medal Finals, it was his first show back
after months off- he was super! He has won many other important things
and always been amazing at finals, I am proud of him in general, he
always tries so hard!
Funny Fact:A funny fact is maybe his favorite treat being sour
gummy worms, he also gets jealous when he sees me walking other horses
by his stall, he pins his ears flat back at them, kind of funny =) He
hates golf carts and moving vehicles/machinery! Also, he knows what he
can get away with and still win depending on the show and competition.
