Gyokumen Koushu

Gyumao's 2nd wife; Ririn's mother; Kougaiji's hated stepmother, Gyokumen Koushu is the one responsible for Gyumao's revival tests and assassins (who she forced Kougaiji to send to dispose of Sanzo-ikkou).

Kougaiji hates her, but she forced him to work for her as she has Rasetsunyo (Kougaiji's own mother) as a 'hostage'. She plans to use Ririn, her own daughter, for Gyumao's revival tests. Kougaiji refers to her as an 'annoying woman'...

Her main goal is to spread chaos in Togenkyo by reviving Gyumao.

Nii Jyeni

Gyokumen Koushu's personal researcher who carries a stuffed bunny with him.

Nii is a human, despite that he is working for youkai kind...

Nii's a *bit twisted. He mocks everybody, including his co-workers. Mysterious and like Gyokumen Koushu, he is calculating. His loyalties are unknown. "I'm merely working for my salary's worth."

"Enemy? Everybody here is my enemy aside from myself."

Hwan- hakase (Dr. Hwan)

Is another researcher in Gyokumen Koushu's own research team. She also has her mysterious aura.

Like Nii, she's a human. But why she's working for youkai is also unknown. She dislikes Nii intensely, and Nii mocks her as his 'rival'.

She could probably viewed as distant and cold to people, and like Nii, she's only doing her work.

Kanzeon Bosatsu (no pic yet)

She is known as the Goddess of Mercy (a.k.a The compassionate Buddha). She was the one who has sent Genjo Sanzo and chose his companions. In Gensomaden, she's often seen 'watching' or 'witnessing' events. Sometimes, she gives clues about the fate of the four travellers. She occasionally descends to Togenkyo. She's always calm about things, often seen sitting on her 'throne' in front of a lotus pond with binoculars. She hates boring and ordinary things. In Saiyuki Gaiden, she's Konzen Doji's aunt and boss. Still dislikes the old, ordinary and boring, she entrusted Goku to Konzen.

Jiroushin (no pic yet)

Kanzeon Bosatsu's... erm... adviser (maybe) or bodyguard. Always seen with her, Jiroushin, unlike her, fusses about how sharp Kanzeon Bosatsu's tongue is. He disapproves of the way she's always calm, mysterious and even arrogant. Sometimes, Jiroushin gives some comic relief. He's been serving her for a long time (Saiyuki Gaiden included)

Nataku Taishi

The fighting god who defeated Gyumao. Also born as somebody with golden eyes, Nataku is also a heretic. In Gensomaden, he had locked up his heart and soul, existing only, but without a sense of himself. As still as a statue, Nataku became a mere 'empty shell'. In Saiyuki Gaiden, arrogant and mischievous, Nataku was, in a sense, high-spirited 500 years ago. The Heaven Army only uses Nataku as a 'killing puppet'. He was often isolated when in a fight. However, Nataku is Goku's bestfriend. Li Touten, Nataku's father, refers to Nataku as a 'perfect son' and abuses his son's reputation for his own. He was the one who orders Nataku to stay away from Goku.

Homura Taishi

Nataku's successor. Currently the fighting god in Gensomaden, Homura descends to Togenkyo to create a new world.

Being half human, half god, Homura is considered as a taboo and a heretic. He grew up in solitude and isolation. He didn't feel alive until he met Rinrei who he loved but was separated from her as she was punished for loving Homura.

Tired of heaven, Homura decided to create a new world where no taboos or mistakes are. He took forcibly both Holy and Evil Sutra and Son Goku.

He considers Goku to be stronger than him. Goku beats him, Homura is satisfied and happy as Sanzo guessed: the new world was a place for him to die in.

Zenon & Shien

Two gods who followed Homura to Togenkyo because they were also fed up with heaven and their unchanging things. Zenon had a human wife and son, he was banished because of this. But a youkai killed his family. Shien, who had once served Nataku Taishi felt guilty because he had once let Nataku fight alone, now he's making up for it by being loyal to the new fighting god.
