The Day Before Labor Day
A Photo Essay
It was the day before Labor Day, & I made up my mind to drive out to Lake Limestone, north of Bryan, TX, and look at the lakeside homes and holiday cottages.  It was nice & you can see what I saw at the Lake Limestone website.  But what I saw over the course of the day was far more interesting.  I took some pictures to share with my website visitors.  I hope you enjoy them a fraction of how I enjoyed gathering them!

My first stop was to gas up in Hutto.  I decided  to drop by downtown and see Henrietta Hippo, the town mascot.
Sometime in the early days of Hutto, a circus train came througfh and one of their hippos escaped.  The town turned out to help search for her, and she was found to have taken a stroll to the river.  They adopted her as their mascot and now the Hutto has the nations only school/town mascot of a hippo.  Stroll on, Henrietta!
