Effective 2.1.9 the flock will be moving back ot Virginia. Stay tuned for further updates. We did not breed any ewes this past fall.
After 10 years of effort we are finally starting to produce some moorits that retain good color well into adulthood. We are adding a couple more homebred black and katmoget females to the flock. For the time being we will limit our ewes to approximately 20.
In 2004 we added a very select F1 moorit ram sired by Island Kurkigarth Brent . His conformation was superb to say the least. Whistlestop 0421 "Brent" added further to our preference for UK genetics. His sire Island Kurkigarth Brent was the high selling Champion Moorit Ram at the 2000 Shetland Flock Book Show and Sale. He was later shown succesfully at the Royal Highland Show.
In the fall of 2007 we linebreed our heavily UK influenced females selected for multi generation moorit background. They contain the genetics of Island Kurkigarth Brent, Campaign Timothy, Enfield Greyling, Greenholme Holly, Willowcroft Jamie & Heatheran Lightning. Sires will be limited to Brent rams of F2-3 status with soft, fine & crimpy UK style fleeces. We will utilize our "super crimp" homebred F2 ram Pine Valley Brent 33R and several younger F3 sons. All exhibiting softness, consistency of both color and fleece.
