Jim Williams: Lord Of Lyrics

Who is the lyricist of Red/7-g? Why, it's James M. Williams of course! He is also known as "7" in the band. He writes most of the songs for the band, and attempts to rap on the songs. Sometimes he can write 5 songs in one sitting, other times he can't think of anything.

Jim thinks the best songs that

he has done vocals on are:
~Stuff That Sucks
~Outta Whack
~Life
~Pick It Up Now!

Stuff That Jimmy Said
Stuff I Do In The Band: Lead Vocals, Drums,

    Auxiliary Keyboarding
Birth Date: June 10, 1986
Favorite Red/7-g Song: Stuff That Sucks
Funniest Red/7-g Songs: Yellow Stinky Pee,

    Butt-Poo
Favorite Professional Band: Radiohead

Brian Yost: Master Of Music

What's that crappy music? Well, ask Brian, (also known as "g" in the band) because he made it. While Jimmy writes the lyrics for a song, Brian sits and works out music for the song. He does have an occasional lyrical spotlight (as is "Stuff That Sucks") and he has tried his hand at writing a few songs (even though he hates all the ones he wrote).

Brian thinks that these are the songs

he has done the best music for:
~Wouldn't This Make A Cool Ride?
~Fiona Apple...
~Outta Whack
~Stuff That Sucks

Stuff That Brian Said

Instruments Of Pure Genius...

Red/7-g usually doesn't have much to work with, but they do what they can with what they have. Here's the line-up of what that have used throughout their recordings:

~Phillips/Magnavox "Dolby Digital Surround Sound" Stereo System

(that they listen to their music on in the best quality)

~a smaller Craig Boom Box w/cd player

(they record every song they do on this)

~two even smaller tape-players

(used mostly for rewinding and short crappy recordings)

~1998 Ludwig Five Piece Drumset

(with agogo bells, cowbell, and double-bass pedals...also  with hi-hat, ride, crash, and splash cymbals)

~1962 Ludwig Four Piece Drumset

(with cowbell, and square bass pedal...also with hi-hat, and ride, crash cymbals)

~Ludwig Practice Pad and Bell Kit

~Musser Xylophone & Orchestra Bells

~a home-made, really cool sounding, "happy-little-shaky-thing"

(found in"Jail In Mexico" on "white Ox")

~Yamaha and Casio stereo output keyboards

~a little 25 key keyboard

(it's so old and cheap, it has to rev up when you turn it on)

~two full-sized pianos

~acoustic guitar

~our voices

~our brains

~cheese

~Dr. Pepper

~anything we can find to hit, that makes a good noise for a song

Additional Equipment

~Compaq Persario

(used for creating the web site and burning

their music onto CDs)
~Macintosh Performa

(this computer is used for nothing but Red/7-g related material - all song lyrics are saved on this computer)
~Macintosh G4 Cube

(we love this thing...located at Jimmy's house, we do a lot of drawing and songwriting on this)
