Amarant seems like "I`m to cool to do this or that"but he had this certain something he needs to get even with Zidane.He became curious when queen Brahne asked him and Lani to track down the princess.He`ll meet Zidane in Madain Sari and will turn his back on Lani.This thing that he needs to get even with Zidane had something to do with his past.......here is what happended.....

Freya was asking him what his relation to Zidane was and so Amarant began to tell his story....
Amarant told that he was a bodyguard,but he was not hired to be one,strange eh?,anyway so one day he walked to the aunction and Zidane stole something from there and Zidane ran and bumped into Amarant and they had a fight or something,and then Amarant held him or something and then the guards came from teh aunction,suddenbly Zidane started to scream like Amarant is the thief and so Amarant became wanted in Treno for 5000 gil.

So this is why Amarant been actring so to Zidane and the group.Well when you meet Amarant in Madain Sari,he,well turned his back on Lani cause he said that he don`t want to work with people taking hostage of people.After that,he`ll challenge Zidane into a fight,when he`s defeated,he decided to join the group to see what makes Zidane so strong...After queen Brahne died,Amarant will meet Freya at the dock of Alexandria,they`ll get into a fight but later willbe good friends.They talk often to eachother and stuff.Yet later in the game when they flew to that castle what it`s name...? O yeah Ipsen`s castle,some thing between Amarant and Zidane happended....Amarant finally understands Zidane`s motives and found in himself the respect for Zidane after Zidane came by himself to save Amarant.So Amarant wasn`t try to get even anymore with Zidane,he just leaves it.He just goes on with his life with Lani traveling (i think) after Kuja was defeated.
