Self-proclaimed Posted October 19, 2000 by Nick
I guess I'm self-proclaimed TCG guy as I have added most of it. Today I got a Strategies and Gym Heroes checklist. Nothing else to report for today.

The Legend of Esept has been going around for years. Because of the elders great doubt in the legend and how it can lead to dangerous conclusions, the made it illegal to tell. But since you have paid for it you must not tell a single soul.
It all started way back when. Back in the ages of Pokémon training and league competition. Eventually one trainer rose above the rest. His name was Ash Ketchum, out of Pallet Town. After it was proven that he was undefeatable (after 5000 matches that is) he decided to go and search for something more. A challenge. He was bold and fearless, perhaps what led him to be the true Pokémon MASTER. Leaving behind his life, he set out and yet another Pokémon journey. This would prove to be more important than all the rest.
He never returned. Ash was last seen entering the mountains in the west. Many said that he was far too powerful to be killed by the mountains, others said he simply made up an excuse to forget his life. Then one day... It happened. The clock struck midnight, and the sky began swirling and changing colors. Ghostly screams were heard throughout the land. The wind began blowing and temperatures began dropping. That was the first Bloody Midnight. Out of the mountains, said a wandier, blew a green mist. It spread throughout the land and kept wispering the same sentence over and over again. "The hero of light will mount the golden wings to soar above the land." For years people contemplated what this meant. But one of my ancient ancestors made a much greater discovery the next day. Out from the mountains came wind, which would not blow again for an eternity. Out of that wind came some flying object. It was red and white. Then it came to a halt. It was an official Pokémon League hat. None of these were known to exist except Ash Ketchum's. Tattered and torn, many did not believe it. But inscribed on the inside was the same sentence that was repeated the night before. Could this possibly mean that Ash would be the hero of light? It might sound crazy, but I believe that he is still alive somewhere and will mount the golden wings someday. To me it is still unknown what the golden wings are, but I may never see them anyway. It has been centuries since that first night, and nothing related to Ash Ketchum has been heard of him since. Ash is alive somewhere beyond the mountains, and I am determined to find him someday. I will find a way to cross them. Despite the vampires, wandiers, and mikstrens ability to go outside during Bloody Midnight, none have ever returned sane from the mountains. They'll come back babbling about how the saw the light and how the mountains will swallow the earth.

So I have told you the tale of Esept, there is nothing more. You may say that I'm crazy but believe me! You cocky travelers, always laughing at the bartender. Here's the key to your room, you'll be leaving in the morning. What brings you to these parts anyway? Ha, and you call me crazy.
