A Trip To The Digimon Movie...
As of recently (10/6/00) Matt and I took a trip to see the Digimon Movie! Here's the details of the trip.
The day didn't get off to a good start as we had to cancel our plans for the 7:00 showing and change it to the 9:00. Which was bad because Matt had to wake up at 5:30 a.m. the next day for marching band. As we got in the car, we had a little fight over what music we should listen to. Matt wanted to listen to his new Eve6 CD while I wanted to listen to the Digimon soundtrack. We ended up listening to Eve6. When we finally got there we found that there wasn't very many people, probably because it was a Friday night (party night!) So we got our tickets and made the trek to theatre 1. As we walked in the doors we stood in shock, there was no one in the theatre! Oh well, I said, at least there's no little kids. As we waited four teens came in and sat a few rows behind us (they liked testing our they're Goku walkie talkies.) As the movie started we saw previews for such movies as the Rugrats in Paris (Blah!) which I absolutely hate. But then we got to the real movie.
This first part had a fairly good plot to it, as well as some big Tai and Sora, Mimi and Joe hints. Let me go into detail... Tai and Sora have gotten in a fight and don't want to talk to each other. So Tai decides to send her an email. He accidently puts love, Tai at the end and starts to look all embarrassed. Then Kari comes into the room and sends the mail! Although it gets blocked by Infermon, it does get to Sora in the end, where they start playing One Week by Barenaked Ladies, fitting the theme perfectly. Then for Mimi and Joe, I believe this is what happens. Mimi is in Hawaii the whole movie and Joe is at school, whenever it shows Joe's mail box, it's full of letters and a heart-shaped box of chocolates! Anyway, back to the real story. This movie goes in-depth to what happened at Highten View Terrace 8 years ago with Greymon and all. Then later they get into all the fighting and stuff. Probably the coolest scene in this movie is whenever the find the millions of Diaboromon (he multiplied himself) and Wargreymon and Metalgarurumon combine to form Omnimon, then start kicking butt.
Then on to the second part of the movie, called Bokura no War Game in Japan, I think. That may be the third one though. This is present day time, and this part seems a little bit cut. Anyway, there are some awesome fights in this especially since Angemon and Angewomon go up to the ultimate level and Veemon and Terriermon go up to... Some level, I can't remember. Although it was quite ahead of it's time. This movie's plot was quite good, especially since it explains the connection between Willis and Diaboromon. After the movie was over, I insisted that we stay until the end of the credits, but Matt wins once again! Oh well, I got to hear Kids In America and some of Change Into Power. Of course, on the way home, Matt listened to Eve6 once again. But at least I beat him in the sprint to the car.
