| When did you....stop? By Rachel Spellman You ask me how things are going Like you had no way of knowing Just had to pick up the phone and call Instead you are building a sturdy brick wall Between two friends Who've seen each other through beginnings and ends We promised to always look out for each other Now I find myself desperetly seeking another Someone who answers their cell phone Who knows when its best if Im not left alone When they know that Im hurting and can barely get up They take time and call just to ask me whats up When did you.... stop? I can understand you have your own life to be tending And my broken heart isnt yours to be mending But if you said you needed someone to be strong Id be right by your side all along And if you asked me for my last prayer Id never leave the suggestion in the air We promised to always look out for each other Now I find myself desperetly seeking another Someone who answers their cell phone Who knows when its best if im not left alone When they know that im hurting and can barely get up They take time and call just to ask me whats up When did you.... stop? I suppose that Im just being selfish Or maybe its just that im jealous But I think I deserve more than this Friends are more special than lovers Though we dont get wild under the covers We laugh and we share And we'll always be there We're almost as caring as mothers When did you.... stop? |
