Vine Leaf Pickles

Vine leaves have a pleasant lemony tang to them and are slightly bitter, which makes for an unusual taste.

30, 150 mm ( 6 in ), cucumbers 1 litre ( 1 quart ) vinegar
1 litre ( 1 quart ) water 2 cups sugar
cup salt 3 dozen large vine leaves

Cut the cucumbers in quarters, lengthwise. Cut the vine leaves to fit the jars. Pack the cucumbers into sterilized jars with 2 vine leaves alternately. Boil the vinegar, water, sugar and salt until clear. Pour hot, into hot sterilized jars and seal.
