The feminist movement was a movement that radically contributed to achieving many important human rights. However, issues such as domestic violence, rape and sexual assaults are still huge issues that exist in societies today. With the passing of the Equal Pay Act, women’s earnings have increased significantly, but are still below to the amount that men earn. And a large number of women on an international scale still haven’t attained their basic rights. However, a number of organizations such s the Commission on the Status of Women (CSW) established in 1947 are putting huge efforts to help women internationally. And the National Organisation for Women (NOW) established by Betty Friedan and Women’s Equity Action League (WEAL) are working to resolve still existing issues concerning the women’s rights.
