For those who are unfamiliar with the Biblical story of Ahab and Jezebel, they were a husband and wife who ruled in ancient Israel when Elijah was Israel's prophet. Ahab seemed to have a hear t that was sensitive to spiritual things, but his wife had a strong-willed, domineering personality, and she upstaged the king by manipulating circumstances for personal and political gain. Ahab respected true prophets of God, but he surrounded himself with false prophets, idol worshipers, and godless influences. Ahab is an example of a leader with potential who surrounded himself with the wrong type of people who influenced him and turned him away from righteousness.

By carefully examining 1 Kings 18 though 1 Kings 22, we see another interesting parallel. Ancient history once again mirrors modern day evens. Ahab and Jezebel correlate in many ways to Bill Clinton and his wife Hillary. A list of comparing historic events in ancient Israel to recent events in America follows:

Perhaps the most bizarre aspect of the story of Ahab and Jezebel involves the time that Ahab prepared for an upcoming war. A prophet of God named Micaiah revealed that God had sent a lying spirit to come forth from the mouths of Ahab's prophets in order to deceive the king (2 Chronicles 18:21). This is the only reference in the entire Scripture to a lying spirit. Therefore, Ahab experienced defeat because he followed lying spirit. The parallel is that the impeachment charges leveled against Clinton stemmed from evidence that he lied under oath.

Many other parallels can be listed when comparing King Ahab and Clinton. In early 1992, I had no clue this pattern would play out in such detail. As an additional note, Jezebel continued to be in political power for some time after her husband's demise. In fact, when she reappeared in the narrative, she was in the ivory house surrounded by eunuchs in 2 Kings 9:30-32 (eunuchs are similar to security personnel). Years ago, I told my wife, "If this pattern follows through, Mrs. Clinton will be elected to a high office after her husband has left the White House." Today she is a senator representing New York and, according to reports, she will likely run for president in the future."

"In 1992, uh, about 6 days after the presidential election, I didn't know who Bill Clinton was, I just knew he was the Governor of Arkansas, I knew nothing about him, the Lord spoke to me and said that the spirit, the same spirit, that had been on Ahab and Jezebel in the Old Testament, that same pattern, was going to come to Washington. And I didn't really understand what that meant, and I mentioned that and began to preach that and teach that.

Well, let me give you nine things that happened under Ahab and Jezebel, who was a husband and wife team, who ruled in ancient Israel, I Kings chapters 18 through chapters 21, and I'm going to give you the nine things that they did and see if this fits to what we've seen the past several years.

1. Ahab and Jezebel were a husband and wife team and they lived in an ivory house, and of course the Clinton's lived in a white house.
2. Ahab was the leader but she was really directing the country from inside. I think that's very clear that Bill sort of was the political figure and when she got there she was over the health care and doing this and doing that, trying to direct things from the inside.
3. They got involved in a land deal, I know you've heard about Whitewater.
4. The land deal fell through, Whitewater fell through
5. An innocent man named Naboth was killed as a result of a land deal, you've heard of Vince Foster's death, it was connected somehow to Whitewater.
6. Jezebel's, this is Ahab's wife, became directly involved with the paperwork of the land deal, you've heard of Rose Law Firm, how that ties in.
7. True prophets were ridiculed and mocked by God, the religious right was ridiculed and mocked by the Clinton's.
8. It says a lying spirit deceived Ahab, we know that, uh, under former President Clinton that there was a big discussion did he lie to the Supreme Court, to the court, did he lie, die he lie, etc.
9. This is interesting, after he was gone, she was still in political power, and we know Mrs. Clinton is the senator from New York.

So, I'm just showing you this not to say, and I'm very careful here, not to say that they are quote unquote Ahab and Jezebel. I think people carry things too far when they minister things like this, because the Bible says we have to pray for those who have rule over us, and that is people in high places included. I'm just simply saying that the pattern that existed there in the Old Testament repeated itself, and I think that we can see that the whole administration, uh, some people loved what was going on, the extreme liberal left thought it was great. You know, ex-president that smoked, didn't inhale, had all these affairs, got by with it, but, if you look at it, it tested - 42 is the number of testing - it tested the resolve of the nation."

The parallels between the presidency of Bill and Hillary Clinton and the kingdom of Ahab and Jezebel are undeniable. Again, this is further proof that the Lord reveals, through the Holy Spirit, things to come.
