Revelation 9:1-11: An Army of Muslims or Supernatural Beings?

Introduction

Many commentaries on the Bible, when attempting to explain what John was trying to describe when he saw what he saw as recorded in Revelation chapter 9, interpret many of the descriptions in the chapter as referring to an army of Arabs of the Muslim faith led by Mohammed in the 6th and 7th centuries. In order to make this leap of faith, these commentators had to stretch the realms of symbolic interpretation well beyond their boundaries.

This author will concede that this chapter is without a doubt the most puzzling in the entire Bible, and the images seen by John are excruciatingly difficult to fathom. However, that is not an excuse to engage in the type of fanciful interpretation that these learned men of the past have done.

Examining Their Interpretations

The tables to follow below show what three oft-studied commentators have interpreted certain parts of the passage to mean. I have put in bold font the most important parts of their interpretations for this discussion:

Adam Clarke: Adam Clarke's Commentary on the Bible

Revelation 9 Passage

Interpretation

9:3 locusts

Vast hordes of military troops: the description which follows certainly agrees better with the Saracens than with any other people or nation, but may also apply to the Romans.

9:4 they should not hurt the grass

Neither the common people, the men of middling condition, nor the nobles. However, this appears rather to refer to the prudent counsels of a military chief, not to destroy the crops and herbage of which they might have need in their campaigns.

9:4 which have not the seal of God

All false, hypocritical, and heterodox Christians.

9:5 that they should be tormented five months

Others consider the months as being prophetical months, each day being reckoned for a year; therefore this period must amount to one hundred and fifty years, counting thirty days to each month, as was the general custom of the Asiatics.

9:7 The locusts were like unto horses

The whole of this symbolical description of an overwhelming military force agrees very well with the troops of Mohammed. The Arabs are the most expert horsemen in the world: they live so much on horseback that the horse and his rider seem to make but one animal.

9:7 crowns like gold

Not only alluding to their costly tiaras or turbans, but to the extent of their conquests and the multitude of powers which they subdued.

9:7 their faces were as the faces of men

That is, though locusts symbolically, they are really men.

9:8 hair as the hair of women

No razor passes upon their flesh. Their hair long, and their beards unshaven.

9:8 their teeth were as the teeth of lions

They are ferocious and cruel.

9:9 the sound in their wings

Their hanging weapons and military trappings, with the clang of their shields and swords when they make their fierce onsets.

9:10 they had tails like unto scorpions

This may refer to the consequences of their victories. They infected the conquered with their pernicious doctrines.

9:11 a king over them

A supreme head; some think Mohammed

Revelation 9 Passage

Interpretation

9:2: and he opened the bottomless pit

and this, as it may be applied to Mahomet, the eastern antichrist, may regard the publishing of his Alcoran, and obliging all his followers to receive it as the infallible word of God:

9:3 locusts

Now these Saracens sprung up in the times of antichristian darkness, both Papal and Mahometan, and may be said to come out of the smoke of the bottomless pit; and the religion of Mahomet, which they embraced, was no other; and like locusts they were innumerable, they went in troops and bands, as locusts do, Pro 30:27; pillaging and ravaging all they could and their sudden and frequent incursions, the desolations and ravages which they made in the eastern empire, are very aptly expressed by the running to and fro of locusts

9:4 they should not hurt the grass

true Christians, private believers, it may be those of the lower class; who for their numbers, and for their flourishing estate under the dews of heavenly grace, and the distillations of the doctrine of grace, and the clear shining of the sun of righteousness upon them, and for their weakness, may be compared to grass;

9:4 which have not the seal of God

and these were they that suffered most by the Saracens, who abhorred image worship, and fell foul on the idolaters of this kind:

9:5 that they should be tormented five months

The time that the locusts should torment men, which is "five months", seems not to design any determinate time; but only that seeing five months is the time that locusts live, and are in their strength and power, even the five, hottest months in the year, from April to September, this seems to denote, that as long as the locusts live, the Saracens in the east, and the monks and friars in the west, so long men should be tormented by them; for it is certain that these have had power to torment men longer time than barely five months; yea, even though these should be understood, according to the prophetic style used in this book, of five months of years, or an hundred and fifty years; and though this should be doubled, seeing they are repeated, Rev 9:10; and so make up in all three hundred years; for both the Saracens and the Romish clergy have distressed men, either of them, longer time than this: indeed, the flourishing condition of the Saracens was but about three hundred years, or two five months;

9:7 crowns like gold

And the Arabians, as Pliny observes, go "mitrati" (m), with mitres, turbans like crowns, on their heads. This may design the several victories and conquests which the Saracens obtained in Arabia, Persia, Syria, Egypt, Africa, Spain, and many other places;

9:7 their faces were as the faces of men

which may be expressive of the affable carriage of Mahomet, and his followers, especially to the Christians, and of his great pretensions to holiness and religion, and of the plausible and insinuating ways, and artful methods, used by him, to gain upon men;

9:8 hair as the hair of women

this fitly points at the Arabians or Saracens, who, as Pliny says, used to wear long hair without cutting it, and attired as women, and have their names also from women:

9:8 their teeth were as the teeth of lions

which may denote the ravages and devastations of the Saracens in the empire, robbing, pillaging, and destroying all they met with

9:9 the sound in their wings

this may be expressive of the swift and rapid incursions of the Saracens, and of the dreadful alarms to the nations which their invasions made

9:10 they had tails like unto scorpions

with which both Mahomet, who set himself up for a prophet, and the Romish clergy, who set up their decrees and unwritten traditions above the word of God, have poisoned and destroyed multitudes of souls:

9:11 a king over them

by whom is meant the false prophet Mahomet, who was at the head of the Saracens, and led them on to commit the outrages they did; and is believed in by the Turks to this day, as the great prophet of God, and by them preferred to all prophets, not only to Moses, but to Jesus Christ

9:11 whose name in the Hebrew tongue is Abaddon

and are very applicable both to Mahomet, who by his imposture has been the cause of the destruction of multitudes of souls, as well as by his wars, and those of the Saracens and Turks, of the lives of millions, and of the ruin of many kingdoms, countries, cities, and towns.

It should be noted here that John Gill argued this passage in Revelation 9:1-11 was referring dually to both Mahomet and the Roman popes throughout history.

Revelation 9 Passage

Interpretation

9:2

The locusts, who afterwards rise out of it, seem to be, as we shall afterwards see, the Persians; agreeable to which, this smoke is their detestable idolatrous doctrine, and false zeal for it, which now broke out in an uncommon paroxysm.

9:3

Such were the Persians, from whom the Jews, in the sixth century, suffered beyond expression. In the year 540 their academies were stopped, nor were they permitted to have a president for near fifty years.

9:7

This description suits a people neither throughly civilized, nor entirely savage; and such were the Persians of that age. Of the locusts are like horses - With their riders. The Persians excelled in horsemanship. And on their heads are as it were crowns - Turbans. And their faces are as the faces of men - Friendly and agreeable.

9:8

All the Persians of old gloried in long hair. And their teeth were as the teeth of lions - Breaking and tearing all things in pieces.

9:9

With their war - chariots, drawn by many horses, they, as it were, flew to and fro.

9:10

That is, each tail is like a scorpion, not like the tail of a scorpion. To hurt the unsealed men five months - Five prophetic months; that is, seventy - nine common years So long did these calamities last.

Though these commentators were not preterists, those who are preterists use these writings as proof that the things John wrote about in Revelation, up until chapter 20, have all been fulfilled in past history.

While I strongly disagree with the idea that Revelation 9:1-11 has already been fulfilled in the past, I must admit there are some similarities between the period in which Mohammed, the founder of Islam, and what John writes about. However, as I will point out below, they had to stretch their laws of interpretation beyond the breaking point in order to try to compare the two.

Clear Symbolism vs. Literalism

First, let's look at things which John made clear were NOT literal, but which he had to use a natural description to convey because he obviously had no idea at what he was looking. The chart below is an analysis of all the places in these 11 verses where phrases such as "like", "like unto", "as it were", etc.

Revelation 9 Passage

Explanation

9:2 "and there arose a smoke out of the pit, as the smoke of a great furnace"

John did not actually see smoke coming out of a furnace, but the smoke was so thick that it was described in this fashion.

9:7 "And the shapes of the locusts were like unto horses prepared unto battle"

These locusts were NOT, NOT, NOT horses. Nor were they men riding on horses. John, having never seen a creature like the one he was seeing, described their overall shape as best as he could. Something that he was familiar with: LIKE a horse prepared for battle. Meaning, a creature with battle armor on.

9:7 "and on their heads as it were crowns like gold"

These locust creatures had a gold-colored object on their heads that resembled a crown of gold. They were not crowns of gold or turbans. It was something LIKE a crown of gold.

9:7 "and their faces as the faces of men.

These locust creatures had faces that looked LIKE the face of a man. They were NOT the faces of actual men, otherwise John would have said that they had the face of men, NOT "as" the face of men.

9:8 "And they had hair as the hair of women"

These locust creatures had hair that looked LIKE the hair of a woman. It was NOT the hair of actual women, otherwise John would have said that they had the hair of women, NOT "as" the hair of women.

9:8 "and their teeth were as the teeth of lions."

These locust creatures had teeth that looked LIKE the teeth of a lion. It was NOT the teeth of actual lions, otherwise John would have said that they had the teeth of lions, NOT "as" the teeth of lions.

9:9 "And they had breastplates, as it were breastplates of iron"

These locust creatures had breastplates that looked LIKE a breastplate of iron. It was NOT actual iron, otherwise John would have said that they had iron breastplates, NOT "as" breastplates of iron.

9:9 "and the sound of their wings was as the sound of chariots of many horses running to battle."

These locust creatures had wings, no doubt about it. John was trying to describe the sound he heard in their wings, and the best description he could give was that they sounded like many chariot horses running by him. These were NOT military machines or helicopters. John was simply describing the sound he heard in their wings with something with which he was familiar.

9:10 "And they had tails like unto scorpions"

It's clear these locust creatures had tails. The closest thing in the natural John could relate what the tail looked like was the tail of a scorpion: long, flexible, and with painful stinging capability.

10 Reasons This Passage Was Not Fulfilled by Mohammed and Islam

What follows is a listing of ten reasons why Revelation 9:1-11 is not referring to any group of people, battles, wars, or anything else from the 4th, 5th, 6th or 7th centuries:

  1. The time frame in which the prophecies are to take place
  2. The seven trumpet and seven vial or bowl judgments described throughout Revelation take place during Daniel's 70th week, commonly known as the 7 year tribulation. This time period has NOT YET happened, but is to come in the future after the removal of the church in the catching away. Given that, the true fulfillment of this perplexing prophecy will be during the tribulation period, and CANNOT have occurred in the past.

  3. The events in this prophecy had to have been preceded by the events described in the first four trumpets
  4. The events in the fifth trumpet described in Revelation 9:1-11 have to be preceded by all the events described in the first four trumpet judgments. If you were to read about the first four trumpet judgments in Revelation chapter 8, you would understand that events like this have NOT HAPPENED yet in recorded history.

For instance, the first trumpet sees hail and fire destroying one third of the green things on earth. The second trumpet brings a large meteor or comet that turns one third of the water on earth into blood and kills one third of the sea creatures. The third trumpet brings a monstrous fiery asteroid hitting the earth, causing a third part of the rivers to become bitter. The fourth trumpet sounding results in the shortening of one third of the sun, moon and stars shine. All these catastrophic events precede the fifth trumpet, and I'd love to hear someone point out to me in history when these events have occurred.

  5. These beings ascend out of the bottomless pit, which has been opened
  6. This is an great example of stretching the rules of interpretation. The men above who equate what John saw to events in the middle east during the 6th century fail to remember that these creatures come out of the bottomless pit, which is referred to over and over in Revelation. The Greek word is "abussos", from which comes the English word "abyss". The Old Testament refers to this pit many times: it is an actual place somewhere on the earth, but probably in the area of the Euphrates River.

For the commentators above to forget, in their zeal to equate the activities of the Saracens and Muslim conquerors in the 6th and 7th centuries, that these creatures actually ascend from THE bottomless pit is an error of utmost importance.

  7. These creatures have wings and tails
  8. This is not an option. The creature have actual wings and tails, as is clear from Revelation 9:9-10:

Rev 9:9 And they had breastplates, as it were breastplates of iron; and the sound of their wings was as the sound of chariots of many horses running to battle.

Rev 9:10 And they had tails like unto scorpions, and there were stings in their tails: and their power was to hurt men five months.

Note that their wings are not prefaced by "like unto" or "as". They had literal wings and tails. The Greek words for wings and tails are "pterux' and "oura", and are used elsewhere in describing literal features of animals. For example, in Matthew 23, Jesus used the same word wings, "pterux", in describing a hen:

Mat 23:37 O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, thou that killest the prophets, and stonest them which are sent unto thee, how often would I have gathered thy children together, even as a hen gathereth her chickens under her wings, and ye would not!

If anyone can point out to me from history any Persian men who had wings or a tail, who also had the rest of the characteristics, I'd love to learn about it.

  9. These creatures can harm anyone except the 144,000 sealed Jewish men
  10. The sealing of the 144,000 Jewish men as recorded in Revelation 7, which occurs at the beginning of the 7 year tribulation, obviously precedes the events in Revelation 9. History shows, first of all, that the Muslim conquerors of the past harmed both Jews and Christians. Second, no Jews had the seal of God, and their were not 144,000 of them, back in this time. Third, the main thing these Muslim conquerors wanted to do was to harm anyone who didn't convert to their religion.

  11. These creatures could not harm any tree or green thing
  12. It is stretching the bounds in the worst way to say that this means they could harm any righteous Christians. The clear meaning of this verse is to let the reader/interpreter know that these are NOT actual locusts, but are supernatural, angelic locusts from the bottomless pit. Did these Muslim conquerors not walk on the grass during their days? Did their horses not trample the grass?

  13. These creatures cannot kill, but only harm, during their stay
  14. If the preceding six points didn't destroy the Muslim locust viewpoint, this one does. History shows that these Muslim conquerors absolutely did kill many people in their conquest. Therefore, this prophecy CANNOT have been referring to them.

  15. These creatures are only allowed to torment for five months
  16. Incredibly, these commentators equate the five months to 150 years. How you ask? Well, first, the five months have 150 days in them, 30 for each month. Then, they say that the laws of prophetic time demand that each day equals a year. This comes from certain passages in Ezekiel in which the prophet was told to lie on his side for forty days, which equaled Israel's 40 years in idolatry:

Eze 4:5 For I have laid upon thee the years of their iniquity, according to the number of the days, three hundred and ninety days: so shalt thou bear the iniquity of the house of Israel.

Eze 4:6 And when thou hast accomplished them, lie again on thy right side, and thou shalt bear the iniquity of the house of Judah forty days: I have appointed thee each day for a year.

This passage says nothing about future prophetic interpretation. If it does, then every single mention in the book of Revelation of a day, a month, 42 months, a year, etc., must be converted into years. So, the tribulation period isn't 7 years, but instead 2,520 years, according this logic. How? Well, we are told the tribulation is 7 years, or two periods of 42 months. Forty-two months have exactly 1,260 days, multiplied by 2, is 2,520 days. So, if a day equals a year, then the tribulation is 2,520 years long.

If they are going to apply this logic to Revelation 9, then they must apply throughout the rest of the book. As seen above, doing so is simply ridiculous. The plain sense of the scripture tells that the supernatural locusts torment for five actual months. A review of natural locusts will yield a similar revelation: the average locust lives 5 months, from May through September.

  17. These creatures are governed by a king named Destroyer, an angel of the bottomless pit
  18. Again, we see the commentators testing incredulity by suggesting that this angel is figurative, not literal, in that their general goal was destruction through their conquests and their false doctrines. This is simply ridiculous. There is nothing within Revelation 9:11 which suggests anything BUT a literal interpretation:

Rev 9:11 And they had a king over them, which is the angel of the bottomless pit, whose name in the Hebrew tongue is Abaddon, but in the Greek tongue hath his name Apollyon.

There are angels, and there happens to be one over the bottomless pit, a place on or somewhere beneath the earth. It's real simple to interpret this verse, but by backing themselves into the corner of interpretation they chose, they must butcher this verse to the maximum.

  19. The events in the fifth trumpet are followed by the events in the sixth trumpet

One may argue that there can be an unknown period of time between each trumpet, so that the 6th trumpet has not yet come to pass yet after the conquering Muslims roamed the earth is no problem. However, it is clear from the scripture that the sixth trumpet immediately follows the fifth trumpet. History shows no record of an army of 200,000,000 persons assembling in the 7th century, or ANY TIME since then. In fact, an army of 200,000,000 men in the 7th or 8th century would have taken up about one third of the population of the entire earth at the time!

Rules of Scripture Interpretation

After exploring the dated theories of the commentaries above, you may be wondering what my interpretation of this passage is. First, let me make clear the rules of the interpretation of scripture that I use:

  1. Our Almighty God is a God of patterns, pictures and parallels. Prophetic scripture should be examined in light of prophetic patterns, pictures and parallels found with the Bible itself.
  2. When a passage is clearly symbolic, it should be interpreted as such. An example is Revelation 12, which uses such symbols as a dragon, a woman clothed with the sun, an eagle, the earth swallowing, and so on.
  3. When a passage is clearly literal, it should be interpreted as such.
  4. There is a law of first mention: to understand a word, topic or concept somewhere in the Bible, it is often beneficial to go to the first place in the Word where that word, topic or concept is found.
  5. God communicates throughout scripture in bits and pieces, here a little and there a little. To get the full picture of a passage, it is necessary to study other parts of scripture that complement and help illuminate it:

Isa 28:9 Whom shall he teach knowledge? and whom shall he make to understand doctrine? them that are weaned from the milk, and drawn from the breasts.

Isa 28:10 For precept must be upon precept, precept upon precept; line upon line, line upon line; here a little, and there a little:

Having established the rules of interpretation I use, below are several important points regarding Revelation 9:1-11 which will help explain what I believe these creatures unleashed on the earth during the tribulation will be.

The Setting Immediately Before the Fifth Trumpet

In Revelation chapter 8, the first four trumpets are blown and the devastating effects are unleashed on the earth and its inhabiters. It is extremely important to understand what people on the earth have just experienced, and what they are being set up for. In my view, the fifth trumpet is the most important event in the first half of the tribulation period, and is instrumental in the introduction of the mark of the beast. For a detailed discussion on this idea, click here to read my paper on the introduction of the mark of beast.

In the final verse of chapter 8, an eagle is seen flying in the airspace above earth. Let's look at how several versions translate this verse from the Greek:

King James Version

Rev 8:13 And I beheld, and heard an angel flying through the midst of heaven, saying with a loud voice, Woe, woe, woe, to the inhabiters of the earth by reason of the other voices of the trumpet of the three angels, which are yet to sound!

1889 Darby Bible

Rev 8:13 And I saw, and I heard an eagle flying in mid-heaven, saying with a loud voice, Woe, woe, woe, to them that dwell upon the earth, for the remaining voices of the trumpet of the three angels who are about to sound.

God's Word

Rev 8:13 I saw an eagle flying overhead, and I heard it say in a loud voice, "Catastrophe, catastrophe, catastrophe for those living on earth, because of the remaining trumpet blasts which the three angels are about to blow."

Good News Bible

Rev 8:13 Then I looked, and I heard an eagle that was flying high in the air say in a loud voice, "O horror! horror! How horrible it will be for all who live on earth when the sound comes from the trumpets that the other three angels must blow!"

International Standard Version

Rev 8:13 Then I looked, and I heard an eagle flying overhead say in a loud voice, "How terrible, how terrible, how terrible for those living on the earth, because of the blasts of the remaining trumpets that the three angels are about to blow!"

Contemporary English Version

Rev 8:13 Then I looked and saw a lone eagle flying across the sky. It was shouting, "Trouble, trouble, trouble to everyone who lives on earth! The other three angels are now going to blow their trumpets."

Note the two parts of each verse highlighted above. First are the three woes, which several different versions interpret different. Why didn't the eagle just scream one "Woe", rather than three consecutive? Most commentators believe it is because there are three remaining trumpets to be blown, hence three woes. My view, which very few commentators point out, is that just as in Hebrew, three consecutive words denote the INTENSITY of what they are trying to describe or warn of. This is the case when Jesus says "Verily, verily I say unto you" several times throughout the gospel. It is all about the intensity of what he was about to say.

Second, the phrase that closes the verse connotes how soon AFTER the fourth trumpet the final trumpets will occur. In Greek, the phrase is "mel-lo salpizo", and literally means "for the sounds of the trumpets which are about to be sounded." This tells the reader that there is NOT a large amount of time separating the fourth and fifth trumpets.

Causes and Effects of the First Four Trumpets

Again, these four trumpets immediately precede the fifth trumpet, and all involve cosmic events that have an some kind of effect on the earth:

Trumpet (CAUSE)

Result (EFFECT)

Hail and fire, mixed with blood, come pouring down on the earth

One third of the earth is burned up, one third of the trees and one third of the grass.

Something that looked like a huge mountain on fire hit the seas.

One third of the sea turned to blood, one third of all living sea creatures died, and one third of the ships were destroyed.

A large asteroid, burning like a lamp dropped onto the rivers and springs of water.

One third of the waters turned bitter, and many people died from drinking the bitter water.

(UNKNOWN)

One third of the sun, the moon, and the stars lost their shine, such that light during the day and night were one third shorter than before.

Here, I want to focus on the unknown cause when the fourth trumpet is blown. Nothing really causes the effects of this trumpet, yet there are devastating effects of one third of the sun, moon and stars not shining. Now, how in the world could this happen? Will one third of these heavenly bodies simply fall off themselves? Not likely. Will something move in front of them and block their shine? Again, not likely. What about the luminaries simply burning down, losing one third of the shining power? This is possible, but that seems too easy.

Consider this thought: Given that the first three trumpets all involved some kind of COSMIC CAUSE, and the EFFECT of the fourth trumpet is also COSMIC, I argue that some sort of untold COSMIC EVENT is the CAUSE of the fourth trumpet judgment. Jesus made an interesting statement when talking about events during the tribulation, in which this fourth trumpet is:

Mat 24:22 And except those days should be shortened, there should no flesh be saved: but for the elect's sake those days shall be shortened.

Mar 13:20 And except that the Lord had shortened those days, no flesh should be saved: but for the elect's sake, whom he hath chosen, he hath shortened the days.

Hmmm. The days will be shortened during the tribulation. What does this mean? Some argue it means that the years during the tribulation period, on GOD'S CALENDAR, will be shorter than the years currently counted on the calendar. The calendar used during the time God is dealing with Israel is ALWAYS 30 days to a month. Consider the following:

The problem with this idea is that Jesus didn't say the NUMBER of days during the tribulation would be shortened. No, he said the DAYS THEMSELVES would be shortened.

The Asteroid Belt: Remnants of Rahab?

There are several cosmic events taking place one after the other in this time. Obviously, something has happened in our galaxy to cause these things to happen. If you were to study the history of astronomy, including records kept by the ancient Egyptians and Sumerians, you would discover that these ancient cultures referred to a 10th planet in our solar system. The Sumerians called it "Nibiru", which means "Planet of the Crossing".

It is believed by many that the asteroid belt that is currently between Mars and Jupiter was created by a catastrophic collision in the past, and it's quite possible that it was caused by this "Planet of the Crossing". I also believe that the Bible refers to this event in at least two places:

Psa 89:10 Thou hast broken Rahab in pieces, as one that is slain; thou hast scattered thine enemies with thy strong arm.

Psa 89:11 The heavens are thine, the earth also is thine: as for the world and the fullness thereof, thou hast founded them.

Isa 51:9 Awake, awake, put on strength, O arm of the LORD; awake, as in the ancient days, in the generations of old. Art thou not it that hath cut Rahab, and wounded the dragon?

Both of these passages refer to something called "Rahab". Most commentators say David and Isaiah are referring to Egypt by the name Rahab, but there is absolutely no evidence within scripture on which to base this interpretation. Rather, one passage talks about the heavens, the world, the fullness of the world - sounds like cosmic references. The other passage talks about two things that happened in ancient days and generations of old: cutting "Rahab" and wounding the dragon. The dragon almost always is referring to Satan.

It's quite possible that, in these ancient times, Lucifer was given domain on a 10th planet in our solar system, positioned between Mars and Jupiter where the asteroid belt currently is. The 10th planet is referred to as Rahab, and God destroyed it and "wounded" Lucifer, scattering his enemies with a strong arm.

Yes, this is quite wild and speculative, but all the evidence is there:

Luk 21:25 And there shall be signs in the sun, and in the moon, and in the stars; and upon the earth distress of nations, with perplexity; the sea and the waves roaring;

Luk 21:26 Men's hearts failing them for fear, and for looking after those things which are coming on the earth: for the powers of heaven shall be shaken.

A Speculative Scenario

Consider this scenario: At some point in the ancient past (Isaiah called it the ancient days), there were 11 planets in our solar system: Mercury, Venus, Earth, Mars, Rahab, Jupiter, Saturn, Neptune, Uranus, Pluto and Nibiru. Nibiru has a highly elliptical orbit, and moves in and out of our solar system with an orbit around the Sun over thousands of years. At some point, this planet entered our solar system, crashed into the planet Rahab and passed by Earth. The effect of the collision with Rahab was the current asteroid belt between Mars and Jupiter. Many of the asteroid pieces from the collision stayed in an orbit around the Sun, but many also were sent hurling into Jupiter, Mars, the moon and Earth, evidenced by numerous craters on these planets. Another effect on the earth was a slight shift in the tilt of the earth on its axis, as well as a slight slowing down in the rotation of the earth on its axis.

Continuing this thought, we are now thousands of years after this initial crossing of the planet Nibiru, and sometime in the future, it is time for it to cross again. This time, the earth is at a different point in its orbit around the Sun, such that when Nibiru comes near the earth, it comes so close that it disrupts the earth's spin or rotation on its axis again. But instead of slowing down the rotation, this time, it speeds it up by one third. It also brings with it fiery comets, meteors and asteroids, some of which slam into the earth.

Under this scenario, we can see how the first four trumpet judgments could be carried out in the natural realm. Take a look at these four judgments again:

Trumpet (CAUSE)

1. Hail and fire, mixed with blood, come pouring down on the earth.

2. Something that looked like a huge mountain on fire hit the seas.

3. A large asteroid, burning like a lamp dropped onto the rivers and springs of water.

4. (UNKNOWN)

With the Planet of the Crossing once again passing through our solar system, it is easy to see how it could stir up asteroids in the asteroid belt which used to be Rahab and send them our way. It's also easy to see how Nibiru could bring with it comets and meteors.

But what about the fourth trumpet? There is no recorded cause of the daytime and evening being shortened by one third, but as explained above, this planet's crossing near our planet could cause the earth to rotate faster on its axis. The gravitational force exerted by Nibiru, which is believed to be at least 3 times larger than Earth, would be the cause of these earth changes.

Ripening Humanity for Deception

As mentioned earlier, the fifth trumpet immediately follows the fourth trumpet's blowing. If the fourth trumpet actually is what has been postulated above, the crossing of Nibiru as it did once before in crushing Rahab, then here is the scenario earthlings find themselves in:

Given these conditions, it is my belief that the earth will be ripe for Satan's ultimate deluge of evil deception: the fifth trumpet.

It is unnecessary at this point to review the creatures that ascend from the bottomless pit, but a quick review of them at this point would cause one to understand how people on Earth, having experienced the prior cosmic events, would believe that these creatures were indeed ALIENS. Please understand that this author does NOT believe in aliens, or believe that these Revelation 9 creatures are aliens. But I do believe that the programmed world WILL believe that they are aliens given their description in Revelation.

From my understanding of the scriptures, these creatures are supernatural locusts that are vomited from bottomless pit. They are evil, wicked spirits or demons governed by Abaddon the Destroyer that enjoy a five-month reign of horror on the inhabitants of the earth.

The Ultimate Deception

A key point to understand is that, if there was a brand new planet crossing by, humans would be all the more ready to accept the idea that these "aliens" came from this planet as it was passing by. The theme of "life on other planets" has been hammered into our heads so much over the past 50 years that the idea will be easily accepted, especially when people see these creatures with their own two eyes. The New Age movement in the world has been told by their spirit guides that a time like this is coming, a time of earth changes and catastrophe, followed by a time of global peace.

If you were to study the vast scientific studies on alien abductions, close encounters, channeling, remote viewings, astral projections and UFO experiences, you would discover that there are both "good" and "bad" extra-terrestrial beings that people are communicating with. Some people experience aliens or spirits that speak of earthlings reaching the next plane of consciousness, while other people experience horrifying abduction and sexual experimentation experiences.

The ultimate deception will be for Satan to unleash the beings described in Revelation 9 and Joel 2, malevolent and cruel, followed by the "ascended masters", a benevolent bunch of beings who appear on earth. These "friendly aliens" could promise protection from the excruciating and devastating pain when the "bad aliens" returned for another round. I imagine a world in the shape it found itself would be more than willing to listen.

The deception during the tribulation will be so good, so undetectable, so perfect that it would deceive the most elect of Christians if they were on the earth. Jesus told us this. In order to avoid at any cost the devastating attacks of the "bad aliens" in a return visit, the world is ushered into the ultimate Antichrist system: the mark of the beast, a counterfeit replica of the seal of God that protected the 144,000 Jewish men from the creatures of the fifth trumpet. It would be beneficial to read my paper on the introduction of the mark of beast for more on this idea.

The Key to This Scenario

This is the key: recall that in Revelation 9:4, we are told that the creatures from the bottomless pit can harm anyone who does NOT have the seal of God on their forehead:

Rev 9:4 And it was commanded them that they should not hurt the grass of the earth, neither any green thing, neither any tree; but only those men which have not the seal of God in their foreheads.

So, Satan counterfeits the seal of God that protected the 144,000 Jews with the mark of the beast introduced by the false prophet, the second beast of Revelation 13, near the mid-point of the tribulation. This is well after the fifth trumpet judgment of supernatural tormenting locusts from the bottomless pit. The promise is that this seal is just like the seal that protected the 144,000 Jews from the "bad aliens": it will look and feel just like the seal of God, except that they will be able to receive it in their right hand in addition to their foreheads for convenience sake. This ushers in the Antichrist and false prophet system and dooms all those who accept this counterfeit mark to eternal separation from their Creator God. The key, though, is to realize that a repeat the fifth trumpet torment is what people will want to avoid at any cost. Add to that the realization that the mark will be identical to the seal of God that DID protect the 144,000 Jews from the supernatural tormenting locusts, which will make it even more desirable to accept.

Conclusion

Those commentators noted at the beginning of this document should be excused for their interpretation of this passage as Muslim conquerors, I suppose, given that they lived in a different time. A time not dominated by alien abductions, constant UFO sightings, intriguing crop circles, puzzling cattle mutilations, movies, documentaries and television series on aliens and UFO's. Never would they imagine these sort of things; many of them lived and wrote well before the first airplanes were gracing our skies. So, these men did the best they could in allegorizing and trying to explain what they thought were symbols in the book of Revelation, and I suppose their strained interpretations can be understood.

Yesterday morning, I sat in the shower, letting the warm water fall on my body. Running through my mind were the scenarios and events that are described in this paper, and all I could do was shake my head, moan and cry out the name of Jesus. This time will be simply horrifying, catastrophic and woeful, just as the angels cried just before the 5th, 6th and 7th trumpets were blown. I often think that if for some reason I miss the rapture and find myself in the tribulation period, I'll just hunker down and stand up for Jesus Christ in the face of tribulation. But after an in-depth study of this material, I am convinced that this period of history will be beyond our wildest imaginations of horror, fear and torment. Imagine a five month torment by these visible creatures and not being able to die. In the natural world, the sting of a scorpion is one of the most painful experiences a person can have. Satan and his wicked counterparts HATE the human race because Jesus came to die for us, and in doing so, Jesus made a show openly of Satan and his kingdoms. They will immensely enjoy watching humans suffer unimaginable pain for five months.

Jeremiah, Zechariah, Joel, Daniel, Isaiah, Ezekiel, Amos, Jesus and Paul all warn that this time will be UNMATCHED in its terror, trials and tribulation. IT IS TIME TO MAKE YOUR HEART READY FOR THE RETURN OF THE LORD JESUS CHRIST, THE BRIDEGROOM FOR HIS BRIDE. Our fate as a human being is death and separation from God WITHOUT the blood of Jesus Christ covering our sins and preparing a bridge to the Heavenly Father. There is no other way to avoid eternal separation from God than through Jesus Christ. Don't risk dying in a freak accident without the forgiveness of sins . . . if you do, there is NO SECOND CHANCE after you die. Prepare yourself for eternity today, before you are unwillingly ushered into it without Jesus Christ.

These prophetic insights and ideas are extremely interesting, and pertinent to the future of mankind. I believe the Bible is the inspired Word of God, written by men who wrote as they were moved by the Holy Spirit (II Peter 1:21), therefore, I believe that all events prophesied in the Bible WILL come to pass.

The main reason for my presentation of these prophetic insights is to have readers understand that a time is coming when the righteous will be removed from the earth, and the wrath of God will be unleashed on those who did not accept his Son Jesus Christ as a sacrifice for their sins. Eternity is too long to spend away from God, in eternal hellfire instead of eternal paradise. Please don't delay....click the link below:
