She was never a large or especially powerful filly, being quite small in stature for her kind, and lightly built. Her pelt was that of soft ivory satin, with the faintest of lilac sheens to set off the sparkling violet of her eyes. Pale cream did her main spill around a horn of purest gold, and while for a longer than average time she remained wingless, when they budded and grew they would be comprised in shimmering silver feathers. There was truly a beauty about her, even as she gambled and played as a foal. She took nothing from this - her reflection in a lake she would splash at playfully with a hoof of gold and never give a second thought, the eyes of the older colts upon her went unnoticed. She was concerned with play, with good times, with the activities many foals her age loved, no more.

Breeze on wings

Pain and loss fade quickly from the memories of the young.

Mother... Ocean Breeze had been a joyful and high-spirited foal, racing the other fillies, shying playfully from the colts, sneaking after the older Unis and nipping at their tails. She was full of fun and mischief, her mothers delight, her fathers greatest pride.
It was Black Knight, her father, who led the herd, a large assortment of Unis, all ages. Black Knight was in his prime, a fiercely loyal and proud creature who cared about his family and herd above all. The flash flood that claimed the lives of every member but Knight and his beloved daughter nearly destroyed him, as well.

Black Knight

A young Breeze had been saved by her father, and although at first she asked about her mother and her older brother, Wind, the pain of loss faded fast from her mind. Bit by bit she recovered from the shock, and her recovery was all that held Knight together. His daughter was all he had left aside from the memories. Unable to face their old territory, he took Breeze and traveled far, protecting her with all his being, searching for a place she would be safe.
