She is an intensely private creature, so unlike her savage mates outgoing ruthlessness. Yet both are ESLP Alphas, and Bandit will stand by her mate in near everything he does. She is perhaps the only one who can even hope of changing his mind, or at the least allowing her to go against his wishes without consequence.
New members will nearly always meet and be accepted or rejected by Brute alone. Some of the newer members wouldnt even know of her existence. Yet, it is she who organizes hunts and food supplies for the pack, she who knows every inch of the territory from the forest to the underground. She knows every member and has in her mind a short file upon them appearance, background, skills, useful talents, any mistakes or rewards they have afforded the pack. Bandit is, despite all outward appearances, the core of stability holding the pack together.

All these shades of grey
Hide throughout the day
Only fights for play
Live another way
Forced to run, to get away
From all these shades of grey

She was born many, many moons ago. The pale silver light dappled the clearing, illuminating the azurite mother Lupine cleaning her litter meticulously. Our story follows the life of the youngest of those the little female born with her mothers dark coal-blue coat, her fathers stunning, luminescent green eyes and a unique marking she would bear her entire life: a mask over her face, covering both eyes, of varied grey flecks. It was this mask that gave her her title Bandit Gray.
Both parents were demonic, creatures of the underworld adverse to light and with a fierce history of slaughtering any who got in their way. Bandit grew slowly, cursed with the immortality of her parents demon blood. Under the influence of this pair, she had far from an easy time in life. Her demon-parents home was an underground burrow they only ventured from at night. During the day the pups slept, fed, or fought in bitter matches that went far beyond playfights. Bandit, as the youngest pup, may have been taken as an easy target when her siblings were considered but it was not so. From the five pups, Bandit was the quickest of paw and sharpest in wit of the lot. But she was not freed from danger completely.
Yuon was the oldest and largest of the pups. A powerfully-built young Lupine of dark coal coat, he was cruel by nature and had a habit of pouncing at his siblings when apparently absorbed in something else, such as feeding and playing idly with a peace of bone, or even striking from a relaxed sitting or lying pose, looking off into space. In the gloom of the long burrow the five pups snarled and argued, breaking off into three groups. One was comprised of Yuon and the second-youngest pup, slow-witted Koro. He wasnt as big as Yuon, or as cunning, but he was a cold-hearted bully and perfect servant to do Yuons dirty work. The other group were the twin females born after Yuon. Tall and sibilant, Evenstar and Nightsky were both ebony with silver stars, beautiful creatures. Bandit tended to team up with them over their brothers, for the simple reason they were less aggressive though they knew how to hold up against the boys all right. The fights were fierce between them, growing worse as the litter matured. But for the most part, Bandit tended to keep to herself. At first the pups remained in the den all the time, but as they grew steadier on their paws and in their minds, their father Didark allowed them up into the open air. Though the pups were not yet allergic to light as Didark and his mate Rain were, they were only allowed outside at night under Didarks supervision. Gradually the pups learnt to hunt, their muscles hardening, trained evermore by the constant fights over whatever took Yuons fancy. Five demonic puppies were no easy task to put up with.

~Whatdya think ya doin?~ *Yuon demanded aggressively. Bandit raised her head, chewing slowly and deliberately on the chia meat* ~Eating~ *She explained evenly, managing to make the tones sound icy and ambiguous at the same time, adding a long stare from her luminous light green eyes that could have easily been a glare. Yuon growled at her* Icin see that, ya dope!! Its my chia!~ *He barged forwards into Bandit forcefully, elbowing her out of the way as he scoffed great gulps of the meat. Bandit gave him a disgusted look, turned, flicked her tail, and walked calmly away.

It was the next day things changed forever for the six-month old liter.

Didark snarled, swinging to face the big fire Lupe, who also had his teeth bared* ~I warned you to stay away from my family~ *Didark snapped, black-pupiled eyes flashing angrily. The fire Lupe shook his head pityingly* ~At one time, Didark, you were my family. Before, of course, you murdered our cousin~ *Didark sneered mockingly* ~That weak fool wasnt worth to havin the same blood running in er as I do~ *The flamed Lupe was getting angry, his ears pulling back against his skull now, scruff bristling* ~Serene hadnt done anything! You killed he for the most reckless, meaningless motive anyone could find! She tripped, brother, she tripped! It wasnt her fault we missed the deer that time, and in no way was one slip of her paw enough to justify murdering her! Youre insane!~ *Didark grinned hauntingly, black fangs flashing, nodding in agreement* ~Aye, ya right. I just killeder f fun~ *It was too much for the fire Lupe. He leapt, claws ready and teeth bared. The brothers fought and their battlecries reached back to Rain and the pups, far away hunting in the dark reaches of midnight. Eve and Night glanced to Bandit, and the three ganged up on Koro, pushing him back from the carcass he had been trying to steal of Bandit. Yuon snarled threats at them, but the crack in his voice betrayed him. All the pups were worried about their father, and for the first time, the fights between them ceased as they lay outside the burrow to await Didarks return. The arguments, however, did not*
~Weshould goin see whats happening!~ *Yuon raged, his tail lashing forcefully* ~No. Fathers business is his own~ *Bandit replied, her voice soft but strong. Eve nodded in agreement as Night spoke* ~Exactly. If we appeared while Father is in the middle of a battle, how would that look to the other Lupe?~
*Koro blinked dully* ~Wha other Lupe?~ *Yuon shoved his brother impatiently out of the way and glared at the twins and Bandit* ~Right, so you pair dun care if he dies, is that< right?~
*Bandit snorted, steadily loosing patience with the eldest of the litter* ~So you dont think father can look after himself, is that right?~ *Yuon snarled at her, but turned his back and lay down in the dirt. Koro, confused, followed his brothers example. Eve and Night sighed together, padding softly over to Bandit and sitting by her.

The battle raged for hours. Didark was an experienced warrior but his brothers determination and strength were not to be underestimated. The battle back and forth, each too equally matched to gain the upper paw. Until, of course, the dawns rays stared over the horizon.
Didark fell with a scream as the light flooded him. His brother stepped back grimly. Didark clawed frantically at his eyes, but the damage was done. The light had seeped through his pupils and blinded him, but the worst was to come. Such the breed of demon Didark was, light was all but deadly to him. His brother stayed until the end. Having hunted Didark for so long, he was not about to let his evil sibling get away with murder now. Until the writhing and twisting of Didarks body ceased and his chest stopped heaving, the fire male stayed. His job done, Didarks brother turned and walked away, leaving a carcass to feed the hungry scavengers behind him.

As the sun rose, Rain was forced to retreat underground, but the pups did not budge. It had been discovered they they were not allergic to light as their sire and dam. It was Bandit who moved first, standing and staring of in the direction the battlecries had been heard from last night. Her father could not stay out in light, she knew. It was unlike him to spend the day away from his den. Yuon growled, jumping up to black her* ~Well well, youve changed ya mind. Ohhhhh, daddy can take care of himself, but Ill start doubtin that once its mornin~ * But Bandit, not rising to his hostility for once, simply passed him by. Feeling rather foolish, Yuon still growled again when Eve and Night stared scornfully at him as they passed, following their youngest sister. Yuons ears snapped back in anger, and he turned and took it out on Koro* ~Get up, you useless weak!~ *Yuon and Koro were forced to bound to catch up with Bandit, who was setting a ground-eating pace up ahead of them*

*Bandit was the first to reach Didarks corpse. She stood in silence as Eve and Night turned away, swallowing hard. Yuon stared down in shock and rage someone, some Lupe, had defeated their father, the mighty unbeatable warrior. Some Lupe, had killed their father. Anger was so much easier to cope with than sadness Before any of the others knew what was happening, Yuon lashed out at Bandit. His claws tore open her shoulder, blood shooting out, and Yuon was leaping at her the next instant. But although the first strike took Bandit by surprise, it also served to warn her of Yuons intentions. Dodging aside, Bandit was ready for the fight in a second and struck back. Their paws clashed, leaping back, darting sideways, jumping forwards to snap or slash. Koro just stood there, stunned by usually quiet, reserved Bandits sudden ferocity. Of course, she had joined in the fights, both in play with her sisters and more serious with her brothers, but none had ever seen Bandit fight like this. Yuon realized quickly something had snapped within Bandit, that quite possibly seeing her father dead had pushed her over the edge whatever it was, it made her fight with an amazing strength, and Yuons eyes were steadily widening with fear as he missed blows and Bandit landed them. Finally, Koro was spurred into action by Yuons angry scream, edged with fear* ~Koro, what are you waiting for! Help me take her down, idiot!~ *Koro obediently turned to help to find the way blocked by Eve and Night, the sisters scruffs bristling with soft anger as they growled in low voices a subtle warning, but a warning nonetheless. Koro stood, undecided. It may have been this indecision, the hesitation to take on two of his sisters, which cost Yuon his life.

Bandit dropped the lifeless body. Eve and Night gaped they had seen these two fight before, though not like this but they had not expected Bandit to kill him. Koro sat down very suddenly, staring at the bloodied, tattered form that had minutes ago been ordering him about. Without a word, Koro stood and turned his back on his family, breaking into a quick trot as he left them behind.
Eve and Night did not stop Koro leaving, nor try to question Bandit. The rage drained down, appearing her normal calm self, Bandit watched the twins for a second or two* ~Im leaving~ *Was all she said. Night stepped forwards, reached up her paw . Bandit stretched out her own, and they claws touched. Eve stepped forward to do the same as Night spoke softly* ~We will stay with Mother. She will need us when she finds out about Father~ *There was no mention made of Yuon. Bandit stood back to take in her sisters once more both taller than her, graceful, their pure black fur starred with silver. Then, like Koro, Bandit turned her back and was gone.

She traveled alone, spurning the companionship of others. She had always shown a particular interest in hunting, as an excuse to be alone and free from her brothers for a while. Now, hunting was a matter of survival, and Bandit was quick to perfect her skills. Traveling the roads alone gave a lot of opportunity to practice. And it was alone she remained until one not so special day that dawned as any other.

He lifted his soulless, empty eyes, staring in near disbelief at what he saw. She was, without any doubt, the most beautiful creature he had ever laid eyes on. A perfect build, muscular but still lean and trimmed. Her sharp ears swung alertly, bushy tail twitching as she crept slowly up on her prey, a young chia. Her lithe frame was covered from muzzle to tail-tip with thick azure fur, but it was her eyes that primarily held Brute the Savages attention spellbinding orbs of the brightest jade imaginable. Brute lay in hiding, watching the beautiful femme slowly advance Deep Shadows, she could move! Every muscle was under control as her paws shifted silently, carrying her body forwards, ever soundless as she inched closer. Her dark coat reflected no light, seeming to soak up what minute patches of it made it through the forest canopy. She froze without a single movement when the little chias eyes were her way, she was moving again the instant his back was turned. Though the femme made it look as easy as breathing, Brute knew it took years to perfect a hunting technique such as the Lupess was displaying, but he could gauge she was at the most, only a year younger than him.
She pounced before he would have tried to- and landed with perfect accuracy upon the chia kit, ending its life with a swift bite. Snapping out of his trace-like state very unprofessional, for a warrior such as he Brute stepped from the shadows, his cover, his lines eternal disguise*
~Quite some skill you possess~ *His voice was smooth, but it was not that which alerted her before he had even emerged from the shadows Bandits trained ears had focused upon his minute movement, marked his presence. She certainly was a quick one, he thought. Her brilliant eyes were off her prey now, focusing on him.
He had a solid build packed with muscle, obviously a fit creature. Fur was darkened azure with normal white markings along his face, belly, and on the tips of his ears and tail. But his eyes were startling pure black, they were pools of darkness lacking irises and pupils. Those eyes held Bandit for a moment, captivated her longer than they should have. Moving, she cautiously shifted in front of her catch* ~I thank you, but it is nothing more than practice~ *Her tone was quiet and slightly guarded. She hadnt been into contact with any of her own kind for a month, and the last time she had spoken to a Lupe was to snarl a threat at a young starred one who tried to share her catch. But this male he seemed different. He made no further moves towards her, simply standing where he was, watching her with those dark, dark eyes was that a hint of admiration behind his fixed features? The wave of caution within her surfaced, shooting concern this male could be just like her brother straight to her mind. She had been in a few fights since Yuon, and was amazingly comfortable with her own skills. The azure male was far from expecting her lithe spring, and the incredible grace of the movement caused every warrior instinct he possed to desert him for another emotion. He was on his back before he knew it, her right paw pinning his strong shoulder and the left over his throat, applying enough light pressure to keep him still. Her fangs were bared and an inch from his muzzle-tip, he realized they were just a touch longer than a normal Lupines teeth were. Sharply and carefully he drew in a breath, feeling the pinpricks of her claws against his voice box. A smirk rose to his lips at the position he found himself in, thinking what others uses he would like to put it to* ~A fighter, too, I-~ *She cut him off, applying a little more pressure and uttering a soft growl. She was not afraid of him, tough and battlescarred as he was. She was a warrior, herself* ~What do you want?~ *She demanded. One ebon eyebrow raised in the white of his face mask, and he simply grinned up at her. The next moment, his forepaws shot up and grabbed the paw resting on his neck, his hindpaws whipping up and catching her in the stomach. With a neat push he propelled her up and over his head, still holding on to her paw. Shoving himself backwards with his hindlegs, still on his back, he clamped both forearms around her smaller form as she came down, pinning her efficiently against his broad chest and speaking in her ear* ~What do I want? I want to know how such a beautiful creature can be so deadly, so powerful, how she can be such a warrior and yet made it look as easy as you do~
*She struggled slightly, but feeling the power of his grip, relaxed, twisting her neck so he could stare upwards into his eyes* ~Release me~ *Bandit was a little surprised when he did so, rolling easily up to his paws and holding his own out. Flipping over to her belly, she regarded him emotionlessly for a moment. Then she touched her paw to his. His tightened around hers, pulling her up to her paws* ~I am Brute the Savage~ *He spoke with a confident air, the tones of one unused to fear and worry, of one who knew his own power and strength and was not afraid of using it*
~Bandit Gray~ *She replied, and he bowed his head in proper greeting, a glint in his pure ebony eyes.
She stayed with him, travelling together. He was different. He respected her, and it grew into her respect for him. He admired her hunting skills, and she never tired of sparring with him. He was a mighty warrior, and although sometimes she held the upper paw on him, he always beat her in the end, born to the ways she had adapted out of defense. He always treated her with respect, even a certain fondness Bandit was quick to recognize for she felt it within herself, too. He was far from a pushover, though
Brute had been traveling with his brother, Blue. Older, but nowhere near as smart. He had a small, wiry azure coated female with him, Grace, and she and Bandit became friends. Bandit traveled with them. Weeks turned to months. Bandit eventually noticed the swelling of Graces sides she and Blue were expecting. Not long after, Brute asked Bandit to be his mate, and she accepted and so, he told her of his plans.
Since leaving his familys pack, he had always wanted one of his own a pack to lead, bring to great things, to direct and control. He wanted Bandit to become his Alpha female, to rule at his side.
Bandit accepted this position, too. As Grace grew larger and larger, Brute and Bandit roamed further and wider in search of a packlands. Not for too long. By the time Grace was enlarging a den to birth her pups, Bandit was digging beside her, her own belly starting to look decidedly larger.

Blue and Graces twins were a month old when Brute stood proudly by the den, watching his and Bandits four pups crawl blindly around their dam. Each one was blue, with few differences in coat colour the oldest, who was a solid, large-boned young thing, was a shade lighter than the other three. The second eldest, a female, was long in the limbs and had very long, sharp, curving claws for an infant. The youngest two were average-sized twins, a male and a female. All had the normal white markings Bandits fully azure coat had not been passed on. But she was just as proud as Brute, as she stared down at the four fluffy bundles. They were perfect, flawless, they would grow with Brace and Balios, Graces twins in the thick forest Brute had discovered and fought for, won the rights to. The pack had begun.

She is at present mother of two litters fathered by the Savage, the first long since grown and reproduced themselves, the second just entering into the lives of young adults. Her children, despite variations in appearance, nature, and loyalties, will always remain her children. From Daverone the traitor to Outlaw the troublemaker, her feelings for her offspring cannot be denied. She would die herself before seeing harm come to them.

Daverone is the eldest of them, the largest, and the most compassionate. Branded traitor by his family, he left them years back to join rank with the more empathetic Fire Eagles. It was this betrayal that led Brute to declare war upon the Fire Eagles and all who spoke as their allies, and Daverone has solidly remained with his new family, fighting against the old. Bandit stopped her mate killing their eldest in battle, and while this does not place them on the same side, it is perhaps a step closer to it.
Bandit crept silently through the undergrowth, a single petal dislodging itself and landing upon her back. The remainder of the flora swung gently back as if she had never been there. It was her intention. She had chosen her moment well, and the wind had swung towards her. She could clearly catch the scents of the small family in the clearing ahead, but they would not locate hers. The alien scent of this forest clogged her nostrils but she ignored the discomfort, moving forward another noiseless pawstep and slowly brushing enough of the leaves aside to see into the clearing. A gentle-faced and very petite fire femme lay in the sun near the middle, a quiet smile on her face as she watched two pups before her play. The larger of these was a bright-eyed male with multi-coloured flames his boundless energy told Bandit his nature was as colourful as the rest of him. His playmate was a small violet female with a sweet smile and tail that didnt stop waving. A reddish bird with a long beak swooped over their heads and both reared up, yipping playfully and batting forepaws gently at it. Little of Bandits line was in those pair.
The father was sitting a short distance away from his mate, and Bandits breath caught as he exchanged loving looks with his mate. How he had matured he was a handsome beast, all sleek ebony fur with clear white markings and brilliant blue flames. His kindly green eyes much darker than her own were shining with pride. This family was his.
Another large pup sat beside him, black and white with badger markings. Bandit recognized the pensive, wary look in his eyes. Yes, she could see his linage. As she could the last pup, a little dark-crimson female. Dark crimson and ashen, dark emerald eyes, dark frown upon her face.
The adult male stirred, raising a powerfully muscled body onto large flamed paws. Bandit filled her eyes with the sight of her son with his family one last time and slipped away, back to the shadows in her home territory. This sunny place was nowhere she would be welcome.

Slash, the oldest female, manipulative, quick in mind and on her paws, the most successful spy of the Evil Shadowed Lupe Pack. Mother and Daughter have little contact now Slash is one of the busiest pack members and Bandit does more than a casual observer might imagine for the running of the pack. But nevertheless they get along well, well enough to maintain a working relationship and well enough for Slash to come to her dams aid during her difficult second birth. There is real affection there, if it cannot be called love, and it will remain simply because they are mother and child even though little in nature and litter in activities are shared between them.
Few had seen Bandit smile, but the small puppy beside her was one of those few. Many of her antics pleased the new mother, and she encouraged the young whelp as she pounced up at tree-branches, crept up on anything with a pulse, and tore up everything possible with her abnormally long claws. Now Slash was weaned the pups life of activity stretched before her, and her father regularly took charge of her training. Bandit was surprised now when she found herself alone with Slash, able to spend time with their daughter, and the pair would enjoy these outings while they lasted.
~Mum? Whats this?~ Slash questioned her dam, and Bandit moved up beside her daughter to see what she was pointing at.
~A tree hollow, Slash. It happens when trees get older and loose some of their strength, and something can burrow a hole into it, or when two branches grow together but leave a gap~
Slash nodded, storing the information away. She hooked the long claws of a forepaw into the hole, pulled out some dried grass once used as bedding, sniffed it, then replaced it.
~What uses them?~
~Animals that live in trees. Birds, bats, squirrels they were called meercas where I used to live, squirrels anything like that~
~How do they reach them?~ Slash questioned further, glancing further up the tree to a higher hole far out of reach.
~Birds and bats fly, and lots of animals are good at climbing~ ~Climbing?~
~Hanging on with claws and balancing in a tree watch~
Bandit was lithe and quick, and perfectly able to keep her paws under her in lower tree branches. Slash watched her dam intently as Bandit leapt lightly onto a broad branch, dug her claws into one slightly higher and hauled herself up.
A lifetime of fascination with the trees has been sparked.

Only his twin would have grieved deeper than Bandit over Rips death. He was killed by the enemy in a fit of rage, a long-awaited casualty of war. He was but half of one, rarely seen without twin sister Shred, both low-ranked ESLP members considering they were the Alphas children. Perhaps it was bveing undermined by Slash, so quick to learn and fight. The twins were slow, never had good ideas, and werent particularly good fighters. While Brute may have been disappointed over them, Bandit had no such problems. She could not change her mates mind but from her, the twins would find the closest thing to compassion they ever would.
Bandit always moved silently, a habit of hunting. She was rarely found not hunting in one way or another, but this was one of them.
DarkForest didnt grow many flowers. They choked and died and disappeared in its lightless environment, so she had left for the Plains before returning to her territory. She made an almost comical sight, her lean body, still fit and trim despite her advancing age, her silent pace, her ominous dark mask and a mouthful of flowers. Silent as ever she laid the colourful mouthful upon the freshly disturbed earth, bare save for a tuft of thick bloody dark blue fur weighted down from the wind by a small rock. Silent as ever, she turned and left the grave, unable to face the death of her child any longer.

Shred, Rips twin, was much like him. Near enough to the rank omega, she kept her head down and followed orders, though perhaps this is soon to change she and her mother got along as well as could be permitted. While not busy with pack work or with her twin brother, Shred was often found with Bandit, trying her best to concentrate on hunting techniques. Bandit, unlike her mate, never ran out of patience with the youngest of her first litter.
Bandits ears twitched as she picked up the voices. The hare she had been stalking heard them too and shot off on long legs, before Bandit had to chance to creep closer and run him down. She let it go and remained where she was, her luminous eyes narrowing slightly as she spied the voices owners.
Shred, her coat ruffled and tangled and her features hardened more than most would have ever seen, was walking beside a taller emerald male. His sleek muscles and the arrogant tilt to his ears and tail informed Bandit of both status and persona this was Ketlan, one of the highest pack warriors. From the lack of distance between them, it looked as if he and Shred were far from the distant pack-mates they should have been. In a world of rules and ranks high warriors did not associate with low ranks. As for a high warrior taking a low rank for a mate Lupes had been Banished for it.
Bandit watched her daughter and Ketlan pass, unaware of her silent presence. She thought about moving, confronting the pair. They would have got much worse if it had been her mate who had seen them. But, with a near inaudible sigh, Bandit let them continue on their way. Shred needed to follow her heart hearing a lecture of pack rules and regulations wouldnt tell her anything she did not already know. Her daughter was not a pup anymore, not even a young adult. Shred had survived years as an omega, and now, the death of her twin. She was old enough to walk her own path. So Bandit let her.

Eldest of the second litter was this time female, a black and white split named NightFallsQuick. And in her, Bandit saw everything of herself.
Forming relationships seemed foreign to this pup, and as soon as she could walk she was off on her own. Her mothers eyes, her mothers love of hunting. It was the latter that brought them close, for Nialic, as Slash nicknamed her, never turned down a hunting lesson. Time would see her progress until there was nothing more Bandit could teach her, but as a young adult, Nialic still seeks out her mother to hunt beside. They are closer than any other of Bandits children, and Bandit is one of the few to realize just how much of her own family line was passed to her daughter - demonic Nialic is allergic to light, both destined and forced into being a night huntress.

Snape and Denzyll, another set of twins but these two were no echo of Rip and Shred, not by a long shot. Their birth nearly killed Bandit, something she never held against them. They were joined at the shoulder and so, it would seem, at their minds. A singular was impossible, they were one, not two. Either feared, ridiculed or ignored by the main bulk of pack members, Bandit offered both protection and affection. The Twins became more protective of her as they grew, grateful in their own twisted way for what they would see as kindness towards them. Woe betide all those who try to lay a paw on Bandit when her conjoined sons are near.

Outlaw was the youngest, resentful of Nialics constant hunting lessons, freaked into aggression by the twins. Constantly rebelling even against his mothers mild attempts to befriend him he would end up in Bleeding Moon lands. His father banished him there after he attacked The Twins, under the care of his aunt Slater and her dark-hearted mate Dralmorde. There, away form his siblings and with the red moon to guide him, he would find his place, and Bandit would be silently grateful for his contentment.
