| The Boogie Man Albert Fish b. May 19, 1870 d. January 16, 1936 Albert Fish was the original boogie man of New York. He bribed children and took them to a cottage in the woods and used their flesh in stew. His most famous murder was the one that put him in the electric chair. In 1934, he killed and ate a 10 year old girl named Grace Budd. He lured her into his cottage saying that his neice was having a perty if she would like to come. At the cottage he strangled her, dismembered her, and used her flesh in a stew with peas, carrots, and onions. When Grace did not return, her parents got worried and called the police. Her parents told the police about a man named Howard White, who the learned was Fish. At the trial, Albert's past crimes unfolded, and it was discovered that he was connected to more than 200 child murders and abductions in 23 states. He confessed to all of these and when he was given the electric chair he said this: " The death penalty... what a thrill it will be to die... thank you, your honor." His exact burial place is unknown, but it is known to be somewhere in New York City. Cause of death: death by electric chair |
