VISUAL DIARY

YEAR-2004

I do refer to these symbols that are found in a holy bible given to

me by my God Mother (my Aunt on my mother's side) nearly 6 months to the day

when I was born. The symbols read as follows: The Eye Of God - Symbol of His

omnipresence and omniscience, Earth - Waste and void, God - His omnipresence and

omniscience, Light And Darkness - The perpendicular line indicates their division,

Moses' Burning Bush - Speaks of God's supernatural attributes, Symbols Of The Trinity -

Just three of the many and varied symbols for the God the father, Son and Holy Spirit,

(the next page) Holy Spirit - The dove is probably the most common symbol of the Holy

Spirit, Coptic Cross - Inspired by the Tree of Life, Christ As Salvation - The sufferings

and death of Christ provided salvation, Christ - The Word of God, Fish - In Greek: I, Jesus;

X, Christ; O, of God; Y, Son; E, Saviour, Budded Cross - Maltese Cross - Anchor Cross -

Variations of the cross symbol commonly used since the time of the crucifixion. I am working

on a series of both paintings and artist books that incorporate those variety of symbols.
