How to run the programs?

To run the programs, first verify if they are compressed. If they are, then run to www.winzip.com and download winzip to be able to uncompress the file and run it on your emulator. If the file you downloaded has the extension LZH, you probably will need LHA (Lha x filename.lzh). or easily you can use Winrar2.90 in util section!

For a emulator, we recommend BR-MSX, the best MSX emulator. We also recommend the use of Ru-MSX if you want to emulate MSX2+ or Turbo-R.

DSK Files

Case your file have a .DSK extension, use the following command line:

BR-MSX -diska filename.DSK [ENTER]

This command line also works for F-MSX.

Arquivos ROM

Case your file have a .ROM extension, use the following command line:

BR-MSX filename.ROM [ENTER]

And again, this command line also works for F-MSX.

Other Files (.BAS, .BIN, .COM, etc)

In case of other files, the only way to run them without much trouble is using BR-MSX, through the option "-mount" which transform any directory in your machine into a virtual disk.
To use this resource, make a dir (Eg: C:\Msx) and uncompress the file in it.(ATTENCION: Do not exceed the size of 720kb of files in this dir, or BR-MSX will not be capable to create a virtual disc, 'cause MSX disk were at maximum 720kb). After, execute the following command line:

BR-MSX -mount C:\MSX [ENTER]

And of course substitute C:\MSX for the dir where you extracted your files. Then, you can just run them as in a normal MSX:

  1. .Bas Files: In MSX Basic type: run "filename.bas" [ENTER] (with quotes)
  2. .Bin Files: In MSX Basic type: bload "filename.bin",R [ENTER] (with quotes)
  3. .Com Files: In this case you will need also in the same dir the following files: SOLXDOS.SYS or MSDOS.SYS and COMMAND.COM (this files are from MSX-DOS and will be executed imediately if found in any disk. Then you just type the filename and press enter to run it.

Don't forget that in BR-MSX if you want to emulate MSX2 you will need the -MSX2 parameter somewhere in the command line.
