| I'm a dietetic
student at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette (UL) and a member
of the American Dietetic Association (ADA). I am currently in my
junior year. I
transfered to UL from Louisiana State University at Eunice
(LSUE). This is where I played basketball for
two years. My experience there was one I will never forget.
LSUE is a great
school. The environment there is very friendly and similar to a
high school. A lot of the proffessors there took advantage of the
small class size and paid closer attention to the students on a more
individual basis. |

| Along with playing basketball I had other gratifying
oportunnities at LSUE. I was asked to sing the national anthem at
the baseball games. That was the beginning of my singing
"career". Soon after
the baseball games I started singing at other events such as funerals
and weddings. I grew up singing in church. From
there I gained enough confidence to try out for a singing group called
the Informers at First Baptist Church in Lafayette Louisiana.
After I made the group my confidence really sky-rocketed. Nothing
was as challenging to me, though, than when I was asked to sing the
National Anthem. This was different than any other type of
singing that I have ever done. First of all I was singing solo
and second there was no music being played. It was a very nerve
racking experience but going through it prepared me for other events
such as weddings and funerals. |
