Biographies
A graduate of New York's American Musical & Dramatic Academy (AMDA), Judy Brenna has been performing on the stage either singing or in theatrical productions since she was six years old. She is a BMI licensed songwriter and a registered screenwriter with The Writers Guild of America (WGA).� She is an Alto to Mezzo/Soprano belter with over a three-octave vocal range.
Raised in Princeton, NJ, Judy has performed in such musical shows as
Guys and Dolls, The Mikado, Cabaret, Lucky Stiff,
Grease!, A Chorus Line, and Pal Joey in local and regional theatres and not only did she have lead roles in 42nd Street and Pajama Game, she choreographed the productions. In addition, for the last 2 years, Judy was co-lead singer/songwriter for the acclaimed folk-rock band, Stoney End and is now in the works on her second screenplay
Jessica Coker, born in Oakland, CA. and a graduate of The American Musical and Dramatic Academy, is currently attending The New School University where she will soon obtain her Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in musical theatre performance.�
She is an alto/mezzo-soprano with a current range of 3 octaves and focuses mainly on Rhythm & Blues.�
She grew up singing with her father from the age of 7 and has continued her passion for music over the years.� Jessie choreographed for The Monarch Mirage in California and performed at Disneyland, and for the Norwegian Cruise Lines.� In addition to choreography she has vocally competed in prestigious jazz festivals around the country and has acquired several awards both in 1st and 2nd place.� She has been a member of Concert, Show, A Capella, and Jazz choirs throughout her years of performing.
Jessie has appeared in shows such as
Grease!, Kiss Me Kate, Jesus Christ Superstar, Guys and Dolls, Ain't Misbehavin and most recently in Secrets Every Traveler Should Know in conjunction with the Off Broadway production, as well as performed for the Emmy Award winning "News In Revue."� Jessie has also worked on R&B demos with Motown Records and various independent artist
Rebecca Derbas, the other co-singer/songwriter for the renowned Stoney End, has studied voice for the past 13 years, having studied musical theatre and opera; she has developed a vocal range that goes beyond four octaves.
Rebecca was raised in Galien, MI and has mastered many instruments including the piano, flute, French horn, trumpet and classic guitar. She is a BMI licensed songwriter.
Rebecca also graduated from AMDA and has been writing songs since she was 15 years old. In local and regional theater, she has starred or performed in such shows as
Wizard of Oz, Pirates of Penzance, Little Shop of Horrors, Godspell, Oliver and Oklahoma! During high school Rebecca received a scholarship from the University of Michigan to study voice at the prestigious Interlochen Arts program.
It was at AMDA where Judy Brenna, Rebecca Derbas and Jessie Coker met and instantly became friends.� Combining their three very unique styles they have teamed up with, musical director, William Demaniow and stage director, Blake Sherman. Together they have compiled a rockin' musical showcase of contemporary musical theatre, pop, rhythm & blues, with selections from some of their favorite shows and artists who have inspired them since childhood, all to raise funding for VH1's Save The Music Foundation: a non-profit initiative with two primary missions: to restore music education programs in Americas public schools, AND to raise awareness of the positive impact music participation has on students.
