| Hi Friends. This is just a short note to let you know that Rebecca and Roland have made it to Fukuoka, Japan. We've been here for a week now and are trying to get settled in - despite a SEVERE lack of Japanese language ability (ie level ZERO) and some other minor complications. We have a great apartment. It's very empty right now until our furniture arrives in a couple of weeks, but it is nice. Very close to 2 parks, on the subway line, close to a nice and small shopping arcade with fruit and veggies. Rebecca is still searching for a baby doctor. Her first visit to the hospital for a check up was quite interesting. . . they spoke no English and I spoke no Japanese so you can just imagine the elaborate hand signals and things that we had to do to communicate! Anyway, this weekend we will visit another clinic that apparently has one English-speaking doctor. We miss you all!!! And here is our snail mail address: Sass-Hovestadt Urban Palace Axe Ohori 2 #902 3-3-15 Arato Chuo-ku, Fukuoka City 810-0062 JAPAN Love, Rebecca |
