A Syndicate-funded experiment that would be used to determine whether or not children could be infused with the DNA of animals and take on the specified traits. Out of five hundred subjects, one survives. She is known in the Syndicate as Zeila, who came to the Project as an abandoned three-year-old orphan painted with odd birthmarks and who became a nine-year-old girl with surprising intelligence and the temperament of an adult long trapped in misery. Tune 1 Soul Refrain Three years can do little to change a person whom one has known for roughly ten years. As a team for almost five years, they became well aware of each other's behaviors and were able to read one another almost as though both were telepaths.
