NBA Street
NBA Street

Your games too big for the arena, too cool for the hard courts.  Take your game to the streets and play against the citys legendary ballers in NBA Street, not to mention the ultimate level boss, the man himself, Michael Jordan.  The PS2s first over the top basketball game lets you play ball the way it was supposed to be played: in the streets, outside the lines, and over the top.  Bring it!

The Pros

The Fun Factor

As with many wacky sports games, the fun factor is never disappointing.  One may find themselves playing for hours on end, just punishing, or in Streets case, schooling your opponents.  With a sweet trick point system, players can earn points by faking out the opposition, blocking shots, and making awesome dunks.  Although not quite as ridiculous as NBA Jam was, many of the tricks and dunks are rather believable, which just adds to the games overall fun.

The Cons

The Roster

What may disappoint basketball fans, is the limited roster in Street.  For each of the NBA teams, only six players are chosen to represent, typically the biggest names on the roster.  Although, it is 3-on-3 basketball, many may wish to have the other team members available.  But then again, Im not a big basketball fan so maybe not, who knows?

In The End

NBA Street is a good game.  Now a good basketball game?, I wouldnt know, for Ive never been into the sports games THAT much, other than NHL, so I have no frame of reference to base my opinion on.  Typically, these type of outrageous sports games tend to get kinda boring after a while.  But I dont see Street sitting untouched for months on my shelf.  This is a good game to play every now and then, especially with friends.  Let the trash-talking begin!   NBA Street gets an 8.
