Ever think about making your own music? Well now you can! MTV Music Generator 2.0 hit�s the PS2 with loads of sample rhythms, beats, and melodies for you to mix together to create your owns jams. With all types of samples, you can create any kind of song from techno, to house, to rock, and to R&B. For all of you musically inclined out there, this game is for you.
The Pros
The Concept
How cool is it to create your own music and have people like it? Very cool. With it�s user friendly interface, it is very easy to find what your looking for and preview your newly created song. Basically, you have your rhythms, bass, and melodies, and from there it�s just a matter of trial and error and listening to what mixes well together.
The Cons
The Limited Samples
Even though there are literally thousands of different samples to choose from, there are millions more that are not included in the game. After making a few songs, it gets harder and harder to create something that sounds different than what you have already. It would be nice if MTV would release CDs that contain new samples, just like other music programs on computers do.
In The End�
Anyone into music will enjoy this game. One can spend hours just working on one song but may get bored of it after creating a few. But I think it�s a great game to be on the backburner for a few months and play it again. I would rather recommend one of the countless music programs offered on PCs and Macs, just because you can do more with those. But if you don�t have a computer, MV Music Generator 2.0 is the next best thing. I give it an 8.5.
