| WWE Smackdown: Shut Your Mouth By Alan Another season of Smackdown is upon us on the PS2. The fourth installlmet in the successful series has promised to be way better than the previous titles. Now with an updated roster, new matches, and an improved storyline, it just may the best wrestling game yet. Go for the gold using all of your favorite WWE Superstars like Rob Van Dam, Brock Lesnar, Hollywood Hogan, and of course the People's Champion, The Rock. Or create your own with the create-a-wrestler mode, which has undergone a huge makeover, now with more detail and options. The Pros The Graphics Wow! The graphics in SYM are amazing. You can fool old people into believing they're watching the real thing. For the majority of the superstars, they look incredibly life-like. Brock Lesnar, Hogan, Jeff Hardy, and RVD really do look like their real life counterparts. The graphics are very much improved from Just Bring It. Also, the crowd has been revamped and does not look so 2D as they did in JBI. The Storyline One of the biggest flaws of Just Bring It was it's incredibly lame storyline. In SYM, you actually play through an entire season, whereas in JBI, 3 or 4 matches were all the the season mode consisted of. Fans of WWE will recognize many plots and events from past moments in recent WWE history. For example, Kurt Angle getting his head shaved, the return of the nWo, and the recent WWE draft, splitting the roster into 2 factions. Although a bit long, the story mode is one of the best yet. |
