SSX Tricky
SSX Tricky

The first SSX was one of the first games to be released on the PS2, which was an awesome game.  I was bit skeptical when SSX Tricky came out.  Tricky was looking to be more of a wacky type of game, judging from the reviews I read, which mentioned the unbelievable and utter ridiculous kinds of tricks you were able to perform.  What I liked about the first SSX was its realism and competitiveness, which I was afraid would lack in Tricky.  But to my surprise, I was dead wrong about this game.

The Pros

The Gameplay

One of, if not, the best snowboarding games out there today.  Tricky offers a wide variety of characters to chooses from, as well as environments and venues.  The controls are easy to learn, making the game that much more fun.  Now, onto the tricks.  SSX Tricky offers many insane and rather far-fetched types of tricks each character possesses.  One of my favorites was Psymons special trick.  His character would remove the board from his feet and spin the board around his neck ( like a hula hoop ) all while in the air.  Some of the tricks are pretty ridiculous but after playing, I found that it just adds to the fun factor.

The Characters

As mentioned before, Tricky allows you to choose from an assortment of snowboarders, each possessing certain qualities, attitudes, and tricks.  The characters range from a spiritual sufer turned snowboarder, to a cocky youngster, to an escaped convict, to an afro wearing white guy.
